  5. a remastering and repackaging...as well as six tracks not on the prior issue (previously available in japon as the complete somkin' at the half note). no doubt a vast improvement over previously available domestics. this was excellent straight ahead wes - to overdub it with strings would be like drawing a mustache on the mona lisa. if you're reading this and don't own it, don't hesitate! -e-

  14. it's really a rhetorical 'if'. it's fact that they are indulging the artist based on the postponed release. there's no way that the artist has any rights to the marketing (or re-marketing in this care), distribution, or release of a work from four decades ago. the ball is squarely in EMI's court as to their indulgence (or 'support' or 'respect'?) to the artist on this count... -e-
  15. no offense intended, but oh yes it is. if they're indulging the artist at this late date... there's absolutely no contractual or atistic justification. talk a hot potato (potatoe?), -e-
  16. i think this is my definitive version of s'wonderful (which is saying something). the sermon holds a special place in my heart as it's the furst blue note i was given as a child... there is no more magical a session in the whole catalog. -e-
  17. can someone comment on the mastering as compared to the recent SBJC's (Super Bit Jazz Classics)? thanks in advance, -e-
