  1. Randy Weston Select, all 3 discs:
  2. I listened to it for the first time yesterday (got it from yourmusic.com for $5.99). I agree.
  3. No wonder you have to work late tonight.
  4. This one ended up selling for $124.50. What a difference a week or so makes (in this case, $60.50).
  5. Yeah, right. How soon they forget:
  6. Especially the session they did with Black Sabbath.
  7. I'm lucky enough to have in my possession the original "In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida" issued in this format, along with the accompanying Iron Butterfly coloring book. Don't even THINK about making me an offer.
  8. Not that I know of. That's the one downside of the site--it's not real user-friendly. You just have to search by artist, and know the titles you're looking for. If you click on "CD info" for any title in the list for each artist, you'll go to a page that shows the label and release date, and whether it's in stock. If I'm in doubt, I usually cross-reference with the label and release date info on Amazon, and that's always ensured that I got exactly what I wanted from AllDirect.
  9. I'm in the same boat regarding purchases in the near future (recent big orders at both J&R and AllDirect), and also have the J.J. Johnson set on the radar for last chance (along with Parlan and Turrentine). I'm not so worried about these OJC prices--J&R's sale covered other labels, also, and AllDirect has just brought the OJC prices down a bit to be in line with their other prices, e.g., Blue Notes. However, other indicators--like the disappearance from Fantasy's site of the list of upcoming 20-bit K2's--have me concerned about Concord's intentions. Hopefully, they're just in a holding pattern for the moment and, while deciding what to do about future releases, won't delete any current titles. I don't have the time, knowledge, or money right now to figure out every last OJC I don't have yet that I might want (although I've picked up quite a few in the past few months).
  10. They're great. I've ordered many, many CD's from them. They'll only let you order what's in stock (no backorders), although on rare occasions they won't have something you ordered and it will be cancelled. It takes 2-3 business days for orders to be processed and shipped (FedEx ground), and then it usually takes 2 days to get from them in Nashville to me in Philly. They have a terrific return policy for damaged or defective discs--you email them, and they email back an RMA number within 24 hours. When they receive it back, they credit your card for the cost of return shipping, and then send you a brand-new replacement (or credit your card if it's no longer in stock--again, they will not backorder). They don't always have everything in stock, and it sometimes takes them a while to restock a title, but basically what you see is what you get. Again, I've placed many orders with them (usually $99 or more to get the free shipping), and have never had a problem.
  11. (OJC's--7.99, OJC's--7.99, OJC's--7.99 )
  12. Within the past day or two, AllDirect.com has lowered the standard price for regular OJC's to $7.99 (from the previous $8.65, IIRC), and for 20-bit K2's to $9.99. Not as good as the J&R special sale price (no longer in effect) of $6.99 for regular OJC's, or the yourmusic.com (much smaller selection) price of $5.99, but still pretty good for a regular price. And you get free shipping for orders of $99 or more. If you already have some at the higher price in your basket, you'll have to delete them and add them again to get the lower price. FWIW. EDIT: The AllDirect.com price for Blue Notes, including RVG's, was already $7.99.
  13. Over 180 bucks for a Clef/Verve Fifties Basie set that looks "virtually unused." I guess a set no longer has to be out-of-print to fetch a healthy premium, just in print for at least 3 months.
  14. Now ten days and counting. Hmmmmmm . . . . ← Never mind.
  15. Nope. We can't officially close this loop until Mosaic officially closes theirs.
  16. Now ten days and counting. Hmmmmmm . . . .
  17. Wouldn't it make more sense just to have us post all that information here?
  18. I can only afford $900 for a CD box set. Do you have anything at that price?
  19. There's a discussion of this here.
  20. I have an LP on Affinity called "Impressions" from these dates. A truly great album. I should get the CD set one of these days, for sure. The album has four tunes: "Four on Six", "Wes Rhythm", "Impressions" and "To When". ← The CD-set has ten tunes--1 hour 43 minutes of music--and great sound. If you're a Wes fan, you should get it sooner rather than later.
  21. I know. I had that next-up in my queue for this month when I got an email from them saying it was no longer available. But I picked it up during the J&R sale for $7.99, so all was not lost.
