  1. I think, at the time, it was quite new and fresh, but now it's a bit tamer. Kinda like the Sex Pistols.
  2. Hoy Bowdy David! I think, like you, I was just buying Eno.
  3. I picked this up last week and noticed they went all PC on us and didn't include the track Qu'ran. It's on the LP and first CD release tho. Still, the sound is excellent and there's extra stuff on the disc and at the website. Rod
  4. That's a single..I think? Rod
  5. After you get it back and runnin', I'd recommend that you buy the largest LaCie external that you can't afford (well, just a little bit over ). I'd come over and help, but all of the talk on this subject sounds like a strange foreign language to me.
  6. Well, I just got back from taking advantage of a Tower sale that was not tepid. All titles on sale from the 18th to the 23rd. Of course, on some titles this means that they're brought down to only 10% over reasonable price, but, hey, that's something, I suppose. There's a good chunk under $10 tho... Rod
  7. WNUR and my old station, WZRD, were where you went for cutting edge sound beginning in the 80's!
  8. Birthday Greetings from Zubeneschamali! Bottoms Up!
  9. This is the only Clarence Williams 3 that I have:
  10. Greg! It'll be 105 (41C) today!
  11. HOT! This info is updated every 5 seconds and is only ONE kilometer away from my home. This is April!

    Chuck Mangione

Once you put that hat on, it's unlikely that you take it off. Just ask Donald Byrd or George Benson.Or Dwight Yoakam

    Chuck Mangione

Yes, people can now say "hat's off to Chuck Mangione" without really meaning it. He was a joke during my college days, tho I have to admit that I liked some of that live thing called "Together." Didn't King of the Hill have a whole season of fun raggin' on ol' Chuck?

Yup, I know - i just meant it in a general way- we need more people who aren't so culturally lazy. Folks that aren't easily satisfied by what pass as good lyrics nowadays. Just my 2 Turkmenistan Manats worth.

Yup, she's great and a good nod back to the Jazzoetry days of yore. First discovery was on some comps with the Jazzanova folks and on some downtemp radio. We need this voice now, just don't know if there are enuf folks that'll listen!
  18. I don't remember the exact statements, but it was enough to make me stop buying her stuff after Road Time. I'm trying to remember even how or where I came across her comments - maybe back in my Down Beat reading days...or a radio interview... but, anyway, it was along the lines of Sun Ra being an embarrassment to jazz ...can't play...he and his band were a sham...that kind of thing, you know? It was much more than just not caring for his music, but a lengthy all-out assault of many words. Out of curiosity, I may check some things like past issues of Down Beat (I think in the mid-70's), et al. Rod
  19. Well, like I said, I don't know and haven't noticed the trend. Maybe there was a Blue Light Special? By the way, AllMusicGuide have changed their webpage again...
  20. Don't know really...haven't bought much new technology in a while. My speaker volume control lights are blue, but my printer lights are green and red and my scanner light is glowing green. HDs are the appropriate red, amber, and green lights. My buddha machine has a red light...ummm... just looking at stuff in my general desk area... Maybe you're steering towards certain brand names?
  21. Surprisingly so, yes! It's inside the Maiden Japan booklet.
  22. Doin a little Suzi Quatro...
