Of course, I've mentioned my absolute LOVE of "Phase One" and I'm sorry to hear that the AEC didn't get their payment for "Certain Blacks", but I'm wondering what folks think of the artwork on these releases. Scribbles and splatterings all over the things that make 'em look just awful! I had some of them in the seat next to me while driving the other evening and I could hardly tell which was which when I looked over to change one out.

I always see the Prestige/Pablo box, but is there really not an Atlantic box out?

Good Time Jazz samples

Experiments began in the early 30's - i think in '34 there was a recording made of Beecham conducting Mozart's Jupiter, but I don't think stereo broke into the commercial market until right after the war (Decca, I think, in '45?)

Sure, no prob. I know I have some recordings that are of that style, but most are on LP (which immediately reminded me to check the Good Time Jazz label stuff). Not sure what to think of Novick's jugband adaptation of Peter and the Wolf There's a nice collection of the GTJ label that you may want to look into with guys like The Firehouse Five Plus Two and Kid Ory, etc: GTJ I'm still going on a faint memory of what the AR theme sounds like, but there are some links on the left hand side of the AMG page-link above that send you to various styles that may help you out.

Was missing a booklet from the Brookmeyer Select. Called 'em up and they sent it on to me. Though it took a little longer than I expected (a couple weeks) it was packaged as if they were sending a precious item. A few people doing a lot of (good) work. all hail!
