Oddly enough, the local B&N is moving to an even bigger facility inside a mall. At least, they SAY it's going to be bigger; I walked past that space the other night and I don't believe them. I guess getting rid of the music dept. will get rid of space that's not being used. Hell, their CDs have always been so overpriced it's a wonder they ever sold any CDs to begin with.

On Ebay for ten years - hundreds of transactions

That's why I only do business thru the Organissimo Board: 100% positive for the buyers and sellers I've dealt with! -
Hmmm.... maybe I should spin it a few more times...... But don't let that stop any of y'all from buying it! Thanks for the props, dude!

That wouldn't be surprising. However, it seems like this is the only RVG to have that error: all the other RVGs from this batch have the full logo on them.

I had planned on telling y'all about this coupon once I got back from B&N. Not that there's much of a jazz section at the local B&N, but they do have a few gems left. I hope they're still there tonight.

Prompt payment, easy to deal with, will gladly sell to again! A+++++++++++++++ Thanks for the props!

I bet Avery quits after this year. Watching him coach tonight, he looks very apathetic, just standing there emotion-less. I guess arguing with Cuban is taking its toll. Hard to believe the Mavs were up by almost 20 early in the 2nd quarter. Now they're down by 14 with 7 minutes left and Kidd just rimmed another free throw. This is just sad.

THANK YOU!!! Seems like there was a thread about this a long time ago, and I never could find it. Bookmarking that site NOW!

Hell, it's a lot more than their ancestry that shows how similar this bunch is.

If someone is depending on NPR for what to listen to for jazz, then they're not even trying; hell, they're even more clueless than I am. Proof? Someone I know, who is an avid NPR listener, told me some years back about the latest (at the time) jazz CD by Boz Scaggs. Boz Scaggs=jazz??? WTF???? It's the same mentality that led one young person told me, "Oh, you like jazz, too? So does my mom. She has a couple of Kenny G CDs." Yer preachin' to the choir here. I take anything NPR says with less than a grain of salt. Like Sangrey said, like I've always said: this place is a musical wasteland, Austin notwithstanding as long as the suburbs keep their distance, and even those days are numbered as long as Perry is still in charge. Why the hell defend it? At least Sangrey is still somewhat optimistic, which is a helluva lot more than I can say for me. -
I wish that were my case; I'd like to be completely unfamiliar with these songs so I could enjoy 'em on that level. Unfortunately, I know 'em well (not necessarily saying I like them), and the idea of someone like Desmond, who I perceive to be a very hip and cool person, playing what is IMO whiny-weenie-folk-masquerading-as-intellectualism-in-the-vain-attempt-at-getting-laid, which is the exact OPPOSITE of Desmond (the man, the myth, the guy who could get laid at the drop of a hat and a sly smile) seems so incongruous. Like Tony Bennett singing the Beatles. Didn't mean to go off on a tangent over a $2 album.

see --> HERE Big deal. The average NPR-type isn't your average jazz-head (except Ghost of Miles and WD45, but they are the exception, not the rule), so yeah NPR's gonna have a story about Redman. Big deal and so fucking what. They're a commercial venture like everything else in the world; can you imagine the outrage from the blue-haired patrons who fund this shit (who like to think they're all artsy-fartsy because they contribute to NPR, go to museums, they "support the arts" and are therefore more intellectual than you or me) if they played any of the music you suggest? As much fun as that would be, it ain't gonna happen. All NPR is doing is pleasing the advertisers. Or playing down to the level of intellect. Take yer pick. -
Must be a Michigan thing: my wife and her family salt EVERYTHING! (They're all from Michigan) When we get a bowl of chips & salsa, I have to grab a couple of chips before my wife salts them. My mother-in-law pours salt in her beer! As for the butter, my wife and her dad put on a whole chunk of butter on any kind of bread. It makes me gag!

Here! Borders actually had these? Color me surprised!

The Mavs season is officially over, and it will go down in the record books as one of the most disastrous seasons in memory. Yes, even worse than those horrific teams that were winning only ten and eleven games per season. Why? Because this season was theirs for the taking, and they blew it. This team had so much to live up to, and they high-tailed it in the other direction. They've been playing all year like they're trying to cover up the gut-wrenching exit of last season's playoffs. They're still trying to prove they can win by playing "Nellie ball." AFAIC, Avery, as good a coach as he is, has lost his team. Trading for Jason Kidd was a mistake of epic proportions, the kind of deal that will be making "Top 10 Worst Trades In NBA History" lists for decades to come. After tonight, since the Kidd trade, the Mavs have yet to beat an above-.500 team. Couple that with Dirk's leg injury tonight, and you can kiss the playoffs goodbye. And even if, IF, the Mavs still manage to weasel into the playoffs, it'll be another first-round exit. Sangrey called this team correctly last year and the year before that: gutless. After two years of hoping it wasn't true, I have no choice but to agree.

So Josh Redman hasn't contributed anything earth-shattering. So what? One man's alleged "settling" is another man's cup o' tea. Not all of us feel the need to be as deep (in more ways than one) in our listening habits. But then, Redman's Wish put me to sleep, despite the presence of Billy Higgins. Oh well. -
I was so mad last night: we were driving over a bridge over I-20 and I could see the moon as it had just fully risen above the horizon. It looked like a giant pumpkin! We were a few seconds away from the house, so as soon as we got home, I ran in, grabbed my camera and headed back to the bridge. When I got there, the moon had disappeared behind a big patch of clouds on an otherwise partly cloudy night. AAARRRRGGGGHHHH!!!!

Where was that picture taken? That place looks familiar. A bar called BD Riley's. You been there? No. I was thinking of this one place, and now I can't remember the street it's on; all I know is it intersects Lamar, just south of the river (it's the same street that Chuy's is on). And now I can't remember the name of the place either.

Bullseye. This article/list serves no good purpose, par for the course for such a classless rag. -
Not much now, but there will be later tonight or this weekend!
