FS- First edition- 1995 pressing, bought directly from Mosaic. Dust cover shows some wear and there is a one inch tear in the bottom left corner of the dust jacket. Binding is tight, pictures are pristine. No bends, folds, and no writing. There are some very small indentations on the bottom of the binder where the book had been displayed on a plate holder type of device. I am starting to dabble in modern classical music. I read that Carter's string quartets are among the best of bunch where modern quartets are concerned. As a fan of smaller group chamber music I am curious if this set will appeal to that interest of mine. I considered getting his complete string quartets, which are available a number of ways, but I am curious if this is a better place to start. Thanks for your input.
