  1. Maybe we should collect some money and buy him a gig bag. RAYNHAM, Mass. -- A Raynham 12-year-old boy has been banned from taking his saxophone on the school bus. Andrew DiMarzio loves to play his tenor sax at home and at school, but the bus company said the case for his saxophone is a safety hazard aboard a crowded school bus. His mother insisted it can easily fit under the bus seat, and is no bigger than many back packs or over-sized athletic bags that other students carry. The dispute comes as the school district is trying to rebuild the music program after years of budget cuts. 2. You're kidding, right? Why get your tighty whities all in a bunch? We're talking about much-beloved comedies here, not religion or politics. As someone else pointed out, it's a matter of personal taste, not something you can prove or disprove. For you to label iconic comedians "goofy" based on your preference for a different form of humor is...er, how do I put this?...Ah yes, to elocute from within your gluteus maximus. Eloquent enough for ya?
  3. Respectfully, you're talking out of your ass. You're posting my quote out of context. I saw it, I lived it, AND I have my own opinions. My original post was in response to the claim that 'I Love Lucy' may have been the best example of ensemble comedy ever. Keep the nastiness at bay, please. If you have a conflicting opinion, I'm ok with that. Just try to back it up a little more eloquently. I said "respectfully".
  4. I believe the proper expression is "by whom was he boned?"
  5. "It's nice to be nice to the nice" - Frank Burns
  6. I'm gonna cuss an' spit an' storm the cotton gin with some loose women.
  7. Don't know if anyone else spotted this one. That isn't Glenn on the cover. It's Jimmy Stewart, who played him in The Glenn Miller Story.
  8. Respectfully, you're talking out of your ass.
  9. One of my all-time favorite shows as well. Just a few reminders of some classic episodes:
  10. The cheapest tracks on eMusic are .49. Imo, $37.50 is a fair price for 7 discs. And don't forget that members who purchase a booster pack receive a bonus, so the price would be even even lower. Of course, there are other options. You could buy it at Amazon for $45.15, or go to iTunes and pay $49.99.

    Anthony Braxton

As the rehearsal began, Mr. Braxton smiled and gamely tried to summarize an aesthetic that, like a Borgesian aleph, seems to contain everything. "I'm a post-Abner Jay kind of guy mixed with Roger Corman and Frankie Lymon and the Teenagers."
  12. Nope. It's never been an issue for me, since I use it as soon as I get it.
  13. Hey folks, Here's the latest free mp3 $2 credit from amazon.com. As before, you have to go to a page selling an mp3. Under the "buy" or "give as a gift" buttons, you'll see a "$" and the words "redeem a gift card or promotion code & view balance". Click on this, then enter the following code in the appropriate space: FALLMP3S Enjoy!
  14. one more 'stache, and a good one!
  15. Not to be a stickler, but does the game permit a cover to be used twice (or more)?
  16. True, but I don't think it hurts. Btw, hot sauce ain't the same thing as ketchup.
  17. I shouldn't have to point out the match.
  18. How the heck can you appreciate good sound with those damn kids running and jumping around the room?
  19. I'm glad some people here really "get off" on this band. Although I enjoy similar kinds of music, they still sound like a Uriah Heap of shit to me.
  20. It's interesting to note that all the solutions offered thus far focus on exterminating the mice in the house, rather than identifying how they got in there in the first place. How Mickey managed to get inside the bread drawer is another (rather unsavory) matter altogether. Since mice are mice and you've lived in that house for some years now, the fact that this is a fairly recent problem suggests there is a fairly new entrance into Casa de Bresnahan. I recommend locating and sealing it (or them), and you probably won't have to worry about how to kill the mice. One more thing: a properly baited spring-loaded trap is more humane than a glue trap. Consider this: A 1983 test that evaluated the effectiveness of glue traps found that trapped mice struggling to free themselves would pull out their own hair, exposing bare, raw areas of skin. The mice broke or even bit off their own legs, and the glue caused their eyes to become badly irritated and scarred. After three to five hours in the glue traps, the mice defecated and urinated heavily because of their severe stress and fear, and quickly became covered with their own excrement. Animals whose faces become stuck in the glue slowly suffocate, and all trapped animals are subject to starvation and dehydration. It takes anywhere from three to five days for the mouse to finally die. This is nothing less than torture.
  21. "Driggs produced numerous recordings, including Columbia Records’ ”Robert Johnson: The Complete Recordings.” He received a Grammy for it in 1991." Quite a feat given that he was 8 years-old when the original recordings were made. They were produced by Don Law (I worked with Law's son, Don Jr., in the 1980s.)
