  1. The new Nubya Garcia remix album is very good. Great scene at the moment, most vibrant I can remember it. Just too difficult to keep up! And, i wish i was 30 years younger to really enjoy it... On this now. thanks again!
  2. Yes, I remember that now. New to me too. Either i hadn't been paying attention (most likely) or she came out of nowhere
  3. Ha! I remember looking at that when it was pre-release and have forgotten about it until your post. Thnkas I'm on this, you know it? Same London scene really

  6. Only had one listen. Struck me as an instrumental Soul album more than Jazz. Not a bad thing at all.

  9. little trip to my local shop Herbie Mann - Monday Night At the Village Gate [Atlantic, UK 1966 mono] it must've been great to be in the room with this band
  10. waiting for that to hit the UK. Bet it's good, the previous one was very good
  11. Thanks for confirming. Just interested to know that my hunch was correct
  12. I'm not a Facebook user but is it a discussion about how they were set to release it on LP and BN stepped in to do the job with the Tone Poet? I'm only guessing but elsewhere on the board someone mentioned a UK label was set to reissue it on LP and I thought it could be Wallen Bink.
  13. Yes and yes! They have done a lovely job but it is definitely priced as "boutique" or perhaps for the foolhardy!
  14. Damn. Loved his early albums and the comeback ones too.
  15. Kent Carter - It Will Come [Le Chant Du Monde, France 1979] Listening and wondering whether Carter ever made a disappointing album. Can't think of one.
  16. Staying in South Africa Gideon Nxumalo - Gideon Plays [Matsuli, 2021 RP]
  17. Ibrahim Khalil Shihab Quintet - Spring [Matsuli, 2020 RP] a very nicely produced reissue
  18. The Roland Kirk Quartet - Meets The Benny Golson Orchestra {Mercury, Netherlands, mono]
  19. Brother Jack McDuff - Prelude [Prestige, 1964] My introduction to BJMcD. A freebie thrown in by a seller with another LP.

  21. No, I didn't. my initial question was very much meant in jest, I hope you realise. I'm not a connoisseur so I've not knowingly tasted Ceylon. It's very much the bog standard cuppa for me, staple hereabouts. i suspect your more finessed approach pays greater rewards. If I can be of help tracking Ceylon for you do say
  22. You're doing it right if that's how you enjoy it. Here most people will take their tea, especially breakfast tea, with milk - a good old fashioned English cuppa. Sweetened, if at all, by sugar. Tradition would have it, and my dear departed grandma too, that it's best made in a teapot, initially warmed with boiling water. And that the milk is added to the cup first. Personally it's a tea bag in the mug, brewed for a few minutes, stirred and milk added. Bob's your uncle, as we'd say
