  1. Anthony Braxton - In The Tradition [Steeplechase, 1974] Jacque Coursil - Black Suite [BYG France, 1971] such a great record, not played nearly enough in this household.
  2. The Specials The Beat The Selecter
  3. Jeremy Vine Dominic Cork Moby Grape
  4. Are they independent of each other, just sharing the same lead character, or sequential?
  5. An arm and a leg, perhaps? I think I thought the same about the London EJQ and it's telling that I haven't streamed it for a long time. My knowledge of these SA (?) albums/musicians is next to zero. I need to educate myself so please do keep listening to them... Edit to add: the cassette's quite cheap, hipster points too
  6. I've flirted with buying that one. It definitely has something about it apart from the cover photo
  7. Well, on first listen I'd agree with that I think. Obviously the sound isn't studio quality but hearing ALS played with this expanded band is fascinating. This is no straight run through of the studio album that's for sure. Now for something a bit different Nubya Garcia - Source + We Move [Concord Jazz]
  8. I was just about to post the same about the Konitz. Quick look on Discogs suggests not currently available but I've not looked elsewhere
  9. It better be, mine's sitting at the PO for collection tomorrow first thing
  10. To understand an artist's development accurately perhaps. Which to some fans is an interesting aspect of following a musician's music. When you released "Before There was Sound" why did you choose that title other than to indicate where it sat chronologically? If that hadn't been any issue to anyone you could have titled it "Roscoe's Latest".
  11. do you know the Blackwell/Berger duet 'Just Play' on Emanem?
  12. still remember buying this, 1981?!
  13. Lucky you. End of the month I think for release. Made me revisit this one which is good
  14. Just sampled the one available track on Bandcamp. Sounds great
  15. Dee Dee Ramone Dee Dee Bridgewater Dee Dee Warwick
  16. Yes, pleased so far. Now onto this Kahil El'Zabar - Spirit House [Spiritmuse, 2020] I saw El'Zabar and David Murray, who features on this, play a fantastic duet in the then newly opened Jazz Café. No licence, so only coffee, and only temporary heating but they raised the temperature. So this is a nostalgia purchase as much as anything.
