I was just recently was him reminiscing the ECM albums he made. Some fascinating stories there:

Recorded at Cracker-Jap Studio, Brooklyn. Heh. I've got many Kikuchi albums but this one I'm going to pass.

Some jazz artists do that too, facepaints and costumes, Art Ensemble Of Chicago, etc. Nothing wrong with some good old showmanship. Music-wise, have no opinion on the group called Kiss.

I haven't heard much from Elvis Costello, but the album he did with Bill Frisell in 1999, The Sweetest Punch, is excellent.

The Montreal Concert album is good. Sax / guitar duos with Gary Bartz.

Pondered the spoken word albums, in jazz genre. Any recommendations. Some I enjoy: The Heinrich Heine album with Attila Zoller Quartet which was mentioned in German jazz topic recently.
