  10. turned on the telly at 15 minutes past the hour and its now 33 past. all i have seen is a symphony(cacaphony) of commercials. this is bleeping B.S. thank god i am hearing sacred unity with mr. grimes as a soundtrack. who needs to explain baseball to a real fan, anyway?
  11. and what is the value of superficial praise other than to mention the name? the greatest music is appreciated at many levels in many eras. maybe that's what makes it great.

  16. what the article didnt say was that her brilliant son, jeff, a class valedictorian with a full scholarship to what was then case tech in cleveland, was killed in viet nam. a day or two after sibelius passed away, i remember she played finlandia as a prelude to worship, without saying a word, and i doubt if anyone noticed.

  22. there are many marvelous piano players in this world, and most of them appreciate an audience.
  23. this might be time to mention that many of us who have really loved jazz and music for a lifetime now have so many enjoyable entertaining distractions that the fine art of listening seriously to music is declining. how is this music going to retain attention(and can it survive) and listeners in an ever noisier world?
