  1. Still more. I remember finding these two a little disappointing, but I should go back and give them another chance:
  2. Could be. Doesn't have to be. Some more: Anyone know this one? I keep meaning to get it but haven't yet. Some for Strays:
  3. I remember seeing the WSQ around the time this came out: Not a favorite. Another ex-Ellingtonian paying tribute:
  4. How about this one? Or this one:
  5. Thanks. Here's another one I really like: Unconventional arrangements of some less common tunes.
  6. You can't do much better than this for a Strayhorn tribute:
  7. PM sent a few hours ago on Goodbye, Babylon.
  8. I'll take Goodbye, Babylon if it's still available.

  9. 26 across in today's NY Times puzzle: Jazz composer with an Egyptian-inspired name (5 letters)
  10. Maybe someone should change the title of the thread to reflect the resolution.
  11. Slightly belated birthday wishes Jack!
  12. 1-across in yesterday's NY Times puzzle: Jazz legend ___ James (4 letters)
  13. ELLA shows up frequently. Earl Hines (or FATHA) and BASIE occasionally as well. TORME too. There's another crossword in jazz thread somewhere on the board.
  14. Looks like it's available as a download: http://www.cdbaby.com/cd/joeromano2 This column indicates that it was released on cd: https://www.allaboutjazz.com/this-is-the-moment-joe-romano-review-by-j-robert-bragonier.php
  15. Not really. I listened to South and Fidgety Feet last night following your post. There's a banjo on Fidgety Feet. It's clearly not Pee Wee on clarinet on those two. Perhaps Bob Wilber or Peanuts Hucko? Doesn't sound like Joe Sullivan either. Did you notice that the "personnel" listed on the front and back of the LP cover are different? One side lists Jack Teagarden and Miff Mole in addition to Cutty Cutshall. I did a little more searching on line to no avail. Lord is no help on this one. I'll let you know if I come across anything else.
  16. Lord lists the following but, in light of the previous posts, the information is clearly wrong: Max Kaminsky & South [K244-16] Max Kaminsky New Orleans Dixieland Jazz: Max Kaminsky (cnt) Cutty Cutshall (tb) Pee Wee Russell (cl) Joe Sullivan (p) Jeff Morgan (b) George Wettling (d) New York ? c. 1955 Royal garden blues MK 1001 South - Fidgety feet - Lonesome road - Jazz band ball - St. Louis blues - Tin roof blues - Susie - High society - Muskrat ramble - New Orleans joys - Basin Street blues - When the saints go marching in - Midnight blues -
