  1. just a teaser from the Basie site: session listing click
  2. I cannot remember anything strange, can you help us zoom in on the problem a little? which track and at what time?
  3. no, we're not. We had a HUGE hump of electronic data that could not be put into BRIAN other than typing it in again. We chose to go with a session based database of our own making, partly reinventing the wheel for sure. Deus wanted to work out a spiffy online search algorithm that would allow to search all the fields and throw up a listing of choice, all in real time. That turned out harder than it may have looked at first. So now for easy access I wrote some Makros to rework the dbase structure we have to session listings to be put online. I believe Mike when he tells me that BRIAN will get easier and less time consuming once you start typing, I am doing this on the side though and as it got us what we want quick and dirty, I'm happy for now. Surely putting it all into BRIAN would be a great next step, checking and correcting all the little mistakes that surely must still be in there. Maybe we can get this going one day, with the help of some type-monkees maybe. We're talking well over 600 sessions here.
  4. put him in the comfy chair!
  5. much appreciated, your bump reminded me to take out hat shaw set again and give it a listen.
  6. actually it's midnight here (and 6 months later...)
  7. man, I remember the day I got that TOCJ (actually I don't but who cares). the Pilgrim's Funny Farm is ingrained in my brain.
  8. This is an actual Milt Jackson RVG. I believe part of this session is included in a Monk Mosaic. I'd like to see something else RVG'd from this 'era' of the Blue Note catalogue. I used the Milt Jackson cover as a symbol of the era I'm interested in. Unfortunately, I don't know what is worth RVGing from this time period. I don't have the knowledge to provide individual session titles. Maybe somebody else can a suggestion from this Blue Note era? you may want to start a quest for the conn 10" series that was released some years ago.
  9. did you mean ??? click the IMG button and insert URL
  10. yes, let's hope they will. no doubt you will run into a decently priced copy in Paris one day. That Francois Tusques 'Le Nouveau Jazz' finally went up to $710! Probably more than Tusques ever made in a single concert...
  11. yeah, me too
  12. What kind of things? you aren't thinking of pandering those soft, squishy, and hairy things again are you? Not if people like you are going to protest. I think 7/4 may be interested if you tell him they won't break your teeth like aluminum siding does.
