Organissimo (dry) t-shirt contest
couw replied to Upright Bill's topic in organissimo - The Band Discussion
the subtext is now that blueish grey from the outer circkle, not black. we can do the grey of the inner circle for the text on the black background. couw is still partial to the lavender shirts... -
cloudy & windy your pants are on fire

What Ubu is asking for here is really very simple, it is for you out there to share your recollections, any recollections, related to Basie. We will then want to use those to make a kind of scrap book on the Basie site. Short anecdotes of how you saw the band perform, how you bought your first Basie record and were blown off your socks, or about that time you met that guy from the band. Anything goes. This is your chance to make up for all them rekkid kompanies and the stoopid general public not noticing the Count celebrates his 100th birthday this year.

It strikes me that although there are a lot of complaints that nothing is being done, not many will want to correct that themselves. In other words: participate! I know it only covers Basie, but at least that is something. If "they" are not gonna do "it," that leaves us and we cannot put our any comprehensive boxed sets, but there are other things that we can do. Join the fun and click. The payment is eternal honour.

like I did here. My Photoshop pointed me to completely different colours, not from the Pantone series when I clicked these. The C in the Pantone numbers I posted refers to the Solid Coated series (blueish: Pantone Solid Coated 5275C, orange: Pantone Solid Coated 158C, grey: Pantone Solid Coated 649C). -
Well, that went well this evening. Best result I could imagine. Pheww. Both teams played like wet old newspapers most of the time and both the goals came out of thin air. No one really dominated the game, in phases maybe, but none would have deserved to win or loose. that Latvia-Czechia game was nothing to reanimate your dead granny about either.

mark, you will need to include some search terms in the html source and those can include a whole lot of things. Then you will want to make sure there are sites that link to yours. Put a link in a footer message on this site for instance. Most search engines look for links from-to to find and order their listings. the URL is really not that important to be found on the web. to be remembered, now that's a different story. I am sure some people here, who - unlike me - actually have an own website or have designed some, will be able to help you out with the details.

I have following colours, copied from the board: - blueish: Pantone 5275C - orange: Pantone 158C - grey: 649C width of 10 inches is what Bill mentioned so that's okay then. this one is 5 inches at 150dpi (and not truncated). -

logo moved down the shoulders in the previous post. Myself, I like it better than the crossword puzzle thing as well. the latter would only be suited for the front and even there it looks too cluttered. I do fear the sub text is too small. The one you posted is just a little under actual size and not easy to read. Maybe a little less text, leave out the "online" and the "/forum" and blow it all up a bit. How's this -

the problem with the lettered logo is that "www." is longer than ".org," making it look a bit awkward if you put it on the back in a large version. I think deus's point is a good one and I like what came out of his suggestion. Maybe do throw an additional large circle on the back like on the lavender one above. EDIT: like impossible's suggestion too. (lavender rules!) -

I like the thing impossible did, but will it be readable? maybe combine the two and use that spiffy retro-style font? I stuck to the font that's already in the design of this site, but am all for the retro one. (don't have it here though.) another idea -
methinks the selection of facts to present already shows an insight. And I think you're being a bit too harsh on Blumenthal, it's not as if he's a cold sod that writes in mathematical formulas. And even then, there is utter beauty to be found in those as well. Why not enjoy the story for the events instead of their ultimate meaning in some grand scheme of things. Different approaches that I for one can enjoy both.

that depends how ferocious the guy standing next to me looks... if not so, I'll cheer with the Dutch goals. Have to be careful, I remember watching a game here in '98 in some student club. It was the game Germany lost 0:3 from Kroatia. Near the end of the first half one of the Germans did some nastiness and I remember myself yelling "RED!" when the whole room fell silent.... Luckily I had some BIG friends with me, there was some animosity there; luckily also this was an incredibly clear foul and no one could really dispute it. The good thing about the '98 tournament was that Germany and the Netherlands could only have met in the finals (which they didn't) and the Germans do like the Dutch way of playing. They are even getting into that themselves now - remember the 2002 final when Germany played like Brasil and Brasil like Germany....
