    Josephine Baker

if you know the exact date and have some hunches, you could try your luck with the national archives in The Hague. It's no google there though and you really need to know where to look. With respect to online resources they did do a nice job with their photo archives: http://beeldbank.nationaalarchief.nl/ If you type in Josephine Baker there, you will get 195 photos covering the post war years. The people at the Archives are very friendly also in questions of clearing copyright on these. While you're browsing old Newspapers, de Groene Amsterdammer has the archives of De Groene from 1877 to 1940 online here: http://www.groene.nl/zylab/ No mention of the 1933 tour, but at least some interesting looking articles. Maybe the dutch jazz archives can help you with the details on your radio show? http://www.jazzarchief.nl

Do a search here: http://kranten.kb.nl/index2.html for dutch newspaper articles of the era. At least you can paste together that part of the tour. Only the files of Het Vaderland cover 1933. Het Vaderland of dec. 22 1933 mentions that the tour that was planned to last until dec. 31, was suddenly broken off due to illness. The edition of dec. 4 1933 mentions the tour schedule (see below). Maybe you can find more info from the other articles.

  13. It's those Casino dudes who won again. For them life seems to be one big commercial and ebay is just another forum for that.
  14. check in with amazon.fr caiman offers all three boxes for 18euro there. But then how much would be the shipping costs from the States? Then the French customs would add import taxes as they do pretty often on shipments from the States... Shipping is according to Amazon Marketplace rules: less than 3eur per item (you can only order one item at a time). German customs only starts to moan from 22eur value for commercial traffic (this includes the postage) and 50eur for samples.
