  1. the tunes 1. My Favorite Things 2. Mr. P.C. 3. Miles' Mode (Red Planet) aren't exactly rare where the large number of live recordings of this 5tet are concerned. IOW: no idea
  2. Uppsala is rare? even I have that set

    LP to CD

see the link to the Goldwave programme I posted above. Some practise at this is needed, don't expect wonders! Your judgement is as important as the programme. No miracles here, but some added enjoyment by getting rid of the worst blemishes. Using EAC or CDex, you can rip the CDrs you made using your stand-alone recorder to create .wav files on your 'puter and then give them the treatment.
  4. Judging from these comments, you will do well here, welcome to the club, and never be afraid to ask the same dumb question we all have, but most do not have the courage to ask ... like: who is that Cal Tjader dude I see in your avatar.

there are several software applications that allow you to edit the wave file. You can remove some of the clicks&pops&co. and set track marks, etc. Using a soundcard line-in, you can use the harddisk of your computer as a recording device.
  6. roaring bikes, eh? that was a nice story, deus!
  7. not even I was there to make that screendump!
  8. it could be worse!
  9. thanks for the pointer! Few other names in there besides the usual suspects, but at least Jan Ptaszyn Wroblewski is mentioned! Been spending several days cleaning up a recording of a 7" 45rpm of the man. Great stuff!
  10. amazon.de lists it twice as 2000 and 2002 releases. Available yes, but expensive too.
  11. hmm... the pipe smoker would now analyse your use of the words "srew" and "suck," together with "timid" in a previous post, and undoubtedly come to the conclusion that you are in denial...
  12. I just marveled at how a similar action can provoke such different responses. All the more because the topic actually belongs in this forum IMHO and not necessarily in the misc section, where it is now (twice). Instead of kicking someone in the eggs for missing out on a topic in the swamp that that misc section is, a nice little link sans comment would have done the trick too, I think. Nothing to get outspoken about, I'd think. But your doctor has a nice philosophy. He's not from Vienna and frequenting this board, is he?
  13. the "other person" deleted it because you came on quite harsh! not with like you did just now, but with didn't the doctor tell you not to get upset anymore? think of your health, man!
  14. welcome indigo! The sign-thread up for BFT 25 hasn't opened yet. Usually the sign-up for the next BFT starts just after the discussion on the current BFT has started. Depending on when .:.impossible posts his answers to the second disk of BFT 23, Ubu will start discussion on BFT 24, and I'm sure Rooster will follow with a sign up thread for BFT 25. My breakfast was a bit tamer with some Shelley Manne.
  15. if you click the [clip] links and change the ".html" at the end to ".mov" you end up with a direct URL to the clips, which allows you to download them to your harddisk for offline enjoyment.
  16. 1950, Hubert Fol & his Be Bop Minstrels record 4 tunes, reissued on the Kenny Clarke AmSwiParis CD (EMI) 1952, Bernard Peiffer records Toccata and Prélude for Blue Star (45rpm), reissued on La Vie en Rose (JiParis, Gitanes/Universal)
