  1. Sorry, you got something wrong there. That's not how it works. It's my birthday, NOT yours! It is actually exactly that misconception which is going to bury Christianity one day: "God has to give me presents." God says: "Bullshit!" Definitely the way to go. "Hey, let's give unto God all the old mouldy cakes I have flying around the house". Way to go. That'll get your pearly gates' count up for sure! Yeah, but the flesh ... the flesh. And talking about stretch marks. Man, the amount of lotion I have to slap on each and every day. We're talking fortunes here. This board has other gods in charge ... although they are, of course, lesser gods which you can just go ahead and worship. Try it. Oh, just what we need. Takes 6 1/2 days to create the stuff (left me 1/2 a day for women and tobacco) and you think it's overly complicated. I guess you have no problems with women and tobacco addiction? Old is not ugly. Ask 62% of the German population. Now that I come to think of it, give it the old acid test. Stand on the next market square, shout "OLD IS UGLY!" ... and report the result back to me. On second thought, I think you will probably be able to report the result directly back to me. I'll be waiting at the gate. You just don't get it, do you? I say "young"and I am. I simply don't need to waste any precious time worrying. Leaves me plenty of time to worry about other things, like jazz fans on jazz forums. Yep, I think we need to rewrite the book of books: "1st commandment: Thou shalt abuse jazz forums. Though shalt not get a life. Nope, not at all." That winged serpent hanging around here again? Man, THAT guy is a nuisance, believe you me. I'm off to be 17. Cheers!
  2. I'm 16. Legal drinking age in my house. Cheers!
  3. Where's my cake?
  4. Sure, I'll check it out. But I don't see why I should move over there, really. Just to get a Blue Note stamp of approval? This is a pretty tight-knit commity here at organissimo.org, and the new BNBB will be quite a different thing, especially if they leave it wide open for guest postings. Wonder how that's going to work out. Cheers!
  5. I guess I have to travel to Switzerland soon. Lukas Felzmann I know (quite a mixed output; lots of detail photography). http://www.lukasfelzmann.com. I've seen some Jean-Pascal Imsand work, but can't recall quite now. Jakob Tuggener is great. I saw an exhibitionabout six years ago, in Frankfurt if I recall correctly. The film I saw. Fascinating. Zweitausendeins sold a book really cheap (I think it's sold out): "Mechanismus und Ausdruck. Die Sammlung Ann und Jürgen Wilde. Fotografien aus dem 20. Jahrhundert. Sprengel Museum Hannover." Most of the photographers I linked to (also Franz Roh) are represented in that book. Get it if you can. It's great (also good reproduction quality). I'm off to bed. Cheers!
  6. Yep, I am. I've been wanting to see that museum for quite some time now ... haven't gotten around to it yet - but I will, one day. One of my fave photographers is Franz Roh (1890-1965), but it is very difficult to find any of his stuff online in a quality which is worthy of his absolutely stunning photos. So, I won't link to anything here. But there are so many great photographers. I could put a hundred into this thread off the top of my head. But, not enough time, especially now (I'm supposed to be in bed). Maybe another day. Cheers! [edited for typing errors]
  7. Florence Henri (lots of fascinating work with mirrors):
  8. Albert Renger-Patzsch (lots of fascinating industrial photography):
  9. Atys naucum, by Alfred Erhardt (from the Wilde Collection):
  10. Bono, by Anton Corbijn:
  11. How about this one: BTW: What's buggin' me though is that after I bought myself two (!) Roland V-Drums kits, they update the whole range with this: [you need the latest Flash player for this] ... forget their video presentation ... it sucks. Judging from a video elsewhere on the net, this kit is a real killer ... stunning sounds, perfect response, as close to acoustic sounds as you can get (yeah, I know, but I live in an apartement and would also rather have a real acoustic set). The video: TD-20 (for Real player) So, I guess I have to shell out another $2000 - $3000 for the brain and a pad or two.
  12. Me too. Can't have that many gaseous consequences.
  13. Check this out: http://www.otheroom.com/namm/default.htm Lots of fun stuff. Cheers!
  14. You mean to say you're going to CHEAT on my birthday cakes? only as a last resort. tell you what: may camera is fixed and it looks like my ftp is up again as well, I'd sooner bake a cake and make a pic than cheat on you using photoshop. should I fear your wrath? How sweet of you. To go through all that trouble for me. makes me feel all warm and fuzzy ... and will make me buy something expensive for my birthday again. Another Mosaic, me thinks. Wrath? Naahhhhh.
  15. No, that's just as profane.
  16. You mean to say you're going to CHEAT on my birthday cakes?
  17. There is a story that goes with that screen name of mine, and I might tell it one day, but not now. couw and others ... there is a God-mode in that game, so you weren't all too far off, but, I'm sorry to say, the origin of my screen name is a bloody and violent ego-shooter blood-fest (at least the way I played it). "Dead-body-fu" as Joe Bob Briggs would have said. Cheers!
  18. The more candles those cakes are sprouting, the more likely it is for me to become a "hobby astronomer". Thanks for the cake(s)! Cheers!
  19. After your posts, I think we were expecting this but hoping it would not happen. How very sad. My sincere condolences, Tom.
