  1. Claude , I've recently converted to ordering surface mail for my last 4 or 5 Mosaic orders & all have arrived on the 5th working day.Air mail always took 3 or 4 working days so its a no brainer for me.(Plus I have never had to pay any extra duty on surface mail).
  2. Thanks Adrian (it looks like its just me & you on this one ). You've tipped me over the edge - I'll order it today. How did you find out about this one ? I heard a track on Gilles Petersons show from Wednesday.

It's just a dumb-ass BBC website where you cannot find anything... The 'dumb ass site ' has coming up a set from Peter Brotzmann (April 2) & Evan Parker special (April 9) http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio3/jazz/jon3/jon3.shtml

  8. Tina Brooks Miles I have everything currrently available that I want (I think) , & then Trane I'm nearly there with all the officialy released titles.
  9. Perhaps I was getting a bit carried away - but I remember promo Jack Johnson discs starting appearing on Ebay a few months before the release.
  10. Some one has a promo for sale on Ebay Uk here's the desciption & link - The tracks recorded at the Cellar Door club in Washington D.C. by the Miles Davis band between 16 & 19 December 1970 have never been released in full. Excerpts of the 19 December concert featuring John McLaughlin as guest player were released on Live/Evil but what we have for auction here is a set of reference CDs of the much-anticipated 6-CD boxed set Live At Cellar Door (Columbia/Legacy) which was supposed to have been released in 2002 yet still hasn’t seen the light of day. These are official Columbia/Legacy reference CDs as prepared for Seth Rothstein, senior director of Columbia/Legacy Jazz. They come in blank jewel cases with no artwork apart from a label on each CD which states “Miles Davis at the Cellar Door Disc 1 of 6. This is a work CD-R. Master tapes were not available when this CD-R was made. It was recorded from available disc sources. Reference copy. columbia/legacy © 2002.” The CDs themselves are in mint condition. 11. My turn BUMP! (I'm sure it closed a loooong time ago)
  12. I've run out of room to keep everything together but on my main shelving . On there I've tried to put all my Blue Note Cds in their original BNLP cat # order with other Blue Notes at the end. My Mosaics Selects Trane Miles Ayler are all together (except boots) , but everything else is a bit all over the place (& piled up in the cabinet under the fish tank).

Apologies for the BBC link - I thought some people may be interested.

Im really not the person to ask about how to download , I'm a bit crap at that sort of thing , but I've not had any problems with realplayer & everything I've listened to or watched seems to stay in my music file ( I always find some very interesting stuff on my PC the morning after a bottle of red wine ). Have you dowloaded realplayer ? I normally put evey weeks broadcast onto minidisc from my radio ( & keep what i enjoy). It would be unfortunate if you cannot listen, a few of the people mentioned on this thread have been on the show (Ellery Eskelin , Sunny Murray , Ken Vandermark - we'll maybe it would have been just me that enjoyed Ken ).

I've got that Tim Berne CD, I heard a live show broadcast by him on Jazz on 3 at the the time(a BBC radio 3 show that I'm sure a lot of the posters on this thread would enjoy some weeks http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio3/jazz/jon3/jon3.shtml ). I didnt enjoy the Cd as much as how they sounded live , I remember a lot of fuss about Marc Ducrets guitar playing at the time but its Craig Taborn that I particularly enjoy here.
  19. The Beatles .

    Jim Hall

I agree 100% with Aggie that Live CD is FANTASTIC ! I haven't got a lot of Jim Hall's work but I really enjoy what I have. I thought the recent Bob Brookmeyer select came to life (for me) when the tracks with Jim Hall appeared.I have the Chico Hamilton mosaic which includes some lovely work by Jim also.
  21. I'm still waiting for my order from Amazon UK , I did order them with the other batch thats released at the end of the month , so I've got a feeling I'm not going to have an opinion on these for another couple of weeks.
  22. I have the Fueller Mosaic - its great. I especially love Hank Mobleys work on the 'The Opener'.
  23. its a great box & the pice couw mentions is way cheaper than anywhere else
  24. I've bought each set as they have come out , with all but Paul Chambers being completely new artists to me. After I bought the first two sets I knew this series was going to be a great way of a)hearing great music & b)introducing new artists to me . I dont think the last couple of releases have been as strong as the first ones , but like you say thats down to personal preference - Heres how I'd rate them out of 5 (purely to my ears - please dont flame me!). Grachan Moncur 5 Carmell Jones 6 Bennie Green 4 Randy Weston 5 Paul Chambers 4 John Patton 4 Curtis Amy 4 Duke Pearson 3 Bob Brookmeyer 3 Bud Shank/Bob Cooper 3 Even the ones I havent rated as high as others have their own gems among the sessions eg Duke Pearson -'Merry Old Soul ' & Bob Brookmeyer - Kansas City Revisited. I double check the Mosaic site every day looking for the next select release date.
  25. There's me ! just next to Martin Luther King! http://maps.yahoo.com/py/maps.py?Pyt=Tmap&...t%A0Map=Get+Map
