I have the June 51 & Sept 51 tracks on a CD I picked up called Miles Davis & Stan Getz - Conceptions on 'Planet Media' for only a couple of pounds. It also has dates from Feb18 1950 & May2 1952. I'd be interested to hear the new date on the Blue Note (thats a cracking cover too).

There are people who'd buy a piece of poop if it said "Blue Note" on the side. Well it depends on who remastered it!
-
And that the artist is not Benny Carter but actually Benny HILL: How the fuck did this thread get from 'Blue note new releases' to 'Benny Hill' in just 17 posts??? Only Organissimo can do this.
-
After seeing John's post I concur 100%.

Thanks - I assumed because that it was Blue Note the 'timed out' issue wouldnt apply. Just shows i shouldn't assume about things i know nothing about! Now i think of it didnt the Larry Young time out as well?

Does this mean that Mosaic do not send the boxes out in number order ? As it looks as if we are getting them around about the 3500 region so there should be 1500 left ??

Gary replied to ghost of miles's topic in Miscellaneous Music
Great show Ghost- I found it very informative , except for the liner notes I have I dont know alot about JJ . And of course the music was outstanding - I'm looking forward to todays show. -
Crikey - I love Arcanum Moderne . I have played it a fair few times though - maybe it might be worth giving it a few more spins.

All the selects are great especially the Carmell Jones ! For your next mosaic I'd recommend the JJ Johnson - its crammed with great music , especially the tracks with Bobby Jaspar.

For selfish reasons my favourite thread was this http://www.organissimo.org/forum/index.php...c=4449&hl=ayler I never expected repiles like those !! Fantastic. The thread that was the most jaw dropping with every post was the 'My brother Karim' (??) - the either Mnytime is near death or the world's biggest bullshitter Thread. Was it deleted ? I couldnt find it .

Mine arrived this morning - thats not bad going for surface mail to the UK. NOW i'm going to cut back on purchases - well except for the new selects.

John , if you go to the link http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio3/jazz/jon3/jon3.shtml & click on 'play latest broadcast' - there is a Dave Holland concert all this week. (Ken Vandermark for a week as of Friday )

From the BBC JAZZ ON 3 Two unmissable gigs are coming up in the next couple of weeks. On Fri 9th Jan, there's a chance to hear the wonderful Dave Holland Quintet, featuring saxophone virtuoso Chris Potter and the octopoidal drumming of Billy Kilson, while on the 16th Jan there's more from the London Jazz Festival with a set from US/Scandinavian free jazz outfit School Days, featuring saxophonist Ken Vandermark. 11.30 pm, Radio 3. http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio3/jazz/jon3/jon3.shtml
