  1. Was our old board buddy Che in attendance? I seem to recall him talking quite a bit about Atzmon a while back.
  2. Aircraft have quite different lifespans from automobiles, so an 18 year old plane shouldn't be cause for concern, in general. Airlines (at least in this country) are very serious about maintaining them on a regular basis after so many flight hours. They also go through regular meticulous inspections from nose to tail. The military still has Vietnam era helicopters in the fleet, and there are B-52s in the Air Force that have been in service since 1955.

Even if the one that looks like Diana Krall gives you a special hug?
  4. Have you tried emailing Amazon UK and explaining what happened? Maybe they have backups to their database or whatever they use, and can recreate your shopping basket.

  8. You're gonna like it or I'll get in my Red Barchetta and run your ass over! (see trash talk post above )
  9. Wow, with Trey Gunn! Could be very interesting!
  10. Post of the week, with or without the pun!
  11. Unfortunately shipping to US is €14, instead of €6. Making even this option not worth switching from Amazon UK, in my case. Thanks for the info though - it's better to consider as many options as possible.
  12. Where did you find that price, Flurin? I checked, and Amazon Germany shows €59,95 for me, plus shipping costs of €14,00. That works out to $105.85 for me. My Amazon UK order totalled £45.62, which equals $93.55. So it's still cheaper.
  13. Bobby Knight Alonzo Mourning Rae Dawn Chong
  14. From Merriam Webster: shyster - a person who is professionally unscrupulous especially in the practice of law or politics I'm guessing "dumpy mama" thinks there may be some racist meaning to the word as well (?).
  15. Get these two for sure: Charles Mingus: Mingus Mingus Mingus Mingus Mingus Charles Mingus: The Black Saint And The Sinner Lady
  16. BTW, why is there an RIP in the thread title?
  17. Happy Birthday Maren
  18. Whoa, somebody pee in your Wheaties this morning? His screen name is/was Alankin. Hans wasn't wrong in correcting your chewy-like name mangling, IMO. And he wasn't rude about it, either.
  19. That Girl (Marlo Thomas) Philip Marlowe Humphrey Bogart
  20. Bought my ticket online last night for the Houston show on Saturday! Anybody else seen PT on the current tour? sidenote - Is Ticketmaster getting worse? The ticket price is $16, yet with all of Ticketmaster's charges, the final price is $28. That's an additional 75% of the ticket price in order processing and "convenience" charges!
  21. I like Trainspotting alot as a film, but I'd be hard-pressed to tell you a single song that's on the soundtrack. Was it really that great a set of songs? I don't remember it being a blockbuster music release, like Purple Rain, Saturday Night Fever, etc.
  22. That is the deal -- they play a song that was popular the summer that you were 16 and partying, you get that warm feeling of nostalgia, and the company's logo appears. Repeat until logo = warm feeling. Mission accomplished. Devious and outright mechanical, but effective. I agree, but I also don't think that's a new development, been going on for a long time. Some of us have just reached the point in the process where we're the ones that now recognize the oldies that are being played in the commercials as "our" music.
  23. Nice! Mine shipped on 9 October but hasn't arrived yet You sure you didn't order it from Zweitausendeins? Box from Zwei....er... Dusty was on my porch this afternoon!
  24. Mine's in South Texas, looking forward to this! Thanks again, Paul!
