Not a bad setlist, except for "I Just Called to say I Love You". That song is like fingernails on a chalkboard for me, still! -

You forgot to mention Jim A's post where he swore off the Pistons forever, and declared his lifelong allegiance to the San Antonio Spurs and Tim Turtlehead.

From NME.com: For some reason, Foreigner doesn't quite "fit" on this bill, though.

Ravens got robbed at the end, with that offensive push off call in the endzone on what should have been at least the tying touchdown. There wasn't a penalty on that play, as far as i could see, and should have been a score. Of course, there was a defensive penalty on the next play, so a fresh set of downs, and still couldn't score.

No wonder the Pats are good - they spy on the other teams with cameras..... (just kidding Conn.....maybe )

I liked Yusuq's second great quintet, sharing the front line with Hous Bin Pharteen. -

The Cowboys have some problems on defense, which is surprising, given the optimism about Wade Phillips and how he was going to turn this 3-4 into a monster here. Terence Newman has some sort of foot problem that's apparently going to linger all season, and he's our best player in the secondary. NT Jason Ferguson is apparently out for the season with a torn bicep. His backup, Jay Ratliff, played okay, but isn't as good as Ferguson. Greg Ellis is having some sort of drama or another about playing time and respect. So it looks like the Boys will have to win shootouts this year, if the defense doesn't play any better than it did last night. Luckily, they seem to have the weapons to do that, when things are clicking. If Terry Glenn is able to return healthy, they could be really good. The guys who got the additional playing time in his absence did well (Crayton & Hurd). Jason Witten was a beast last night, and T.O. had a good second half. I think Romo deserves whatever contract extension the Cowboys will pay him. Finally appear to have a real QB, after Quincy Carter/Vinny Testaverde/Ryan Leaf/Chad Hutchinson/Drew Henson/Tony Banks/Drew Bledsoe/whoever else they gambled and lost on.

Exciting Cowboys/Giants game tonight. Both teams ended up playing without alot of starters. Cowboys defense played ok (just ok) without Newman. I think they're alot better if he ever comes back healthy this season. Out for Cowboys: Terry Glenn Terence Newman Greg Ellis Jason Ferguson Out for Giants Eli Manning (injured in 4th - Jared Lorenzen is HUGE, a biscuit shy of 300 lbs?) Brandon Jacobs Osi Umeniyora Kevin Dockery If Manning's injury is serious, could be interesting to see how Lorenzen can play. He looks like a D-lineman.

I never thought of melting cheese on spam. Looks yummy...note to self...remember to add fastgainmuscle beans to samich. You know it can't be real cheese. It has to be processed american cheese that took years of research including testing, clinical studies, and refinement to give you the perfect synthetic cheese that helps improve your sammich. Oh, and Spam is not just lunch meat, it's luncheon meat. Those three letters make all the difference! Or maybe it just takes an eon to digest. -

Why do we cross the road? To get to the other side. Why do we collect all this music? To enrich our lives until we get to the other side. -
Source: Glaus received steroids Former World Series MVP and four-time All-Star Troy Glaus, currently a third baseman for the Toronto Blue Jays, received multiple shipments of performance-enhancing steroids through an allegedly illegal internet distribution network, according to information obtained by SI. A source in Florida with knowledge of the client list of Signature Pharmacy, an Orlando-based compound pharmacy, alleges that between September 2003 and May 2004, multiple shipments of nandrolone and testosterone were sent to Glaus at a Corona, Calif., address that traces to the player. Though the information only pertains to receipt and not actual use of steroids, both nandrolone and testosterone were on Major League Baseball's banned list at the time. Glaus, then with the Angels, missed much of the 2003 season with a tear in his right rotator cuff and frayed labrum and underwent season-ending shoulder surgery after attempting a comeback in 2004. The prescriptions, written in Glaus' name, were obtained through New Hope Health Center, a California-based anti-aging clinic that advertises the sale of anabolic steroids and human growth hormones on its Web site. The prescription was processed by Signature. The prescribing physician was Ramon Scruggs, M.D. According to the Medical Board of California, as of March 2007, Scruggs has been on probation and is prohibited from prescribing drugs over the internet. He also was reportedly involved in a lawsuit with Mobile-based Applied Pharmacy, which, ironically, was the subject of a previous multi-agency raid. (Contacted through New Hope and given the chance to comment on Friday, Scruggs responded with expletives and ended the conversation abruptly.) Glaus hit 47 home runs in 2000, his breakout season, for the Angels. He was named World Series MVP in 2002. Despite missing significant portions of several seasons, he has hit 277 home runs in his career, an average of better than one every 16 at-bats. Messages seeking comment left for Glaus through both the Blue Jays and his agent were not returned.

Colts whooped the Saints in the opening game tonight, 41-10. You sure wouldn't guess this was a 10-10 game at halftime! Colts looked solid, and ready to defend their Superbowl title. Saints, well they didn't look like a playoff team just yet, but I think they'll be ok.

I generally agree with the ITTOD assessment, Matthew. It had moments, but I think due to Page's heavy drug use during that time, it was dominated by John Paul Jones moreso than previous albums. The only Page solo work I ever picked up after that was his Death Wish II soundtrack, which was ok, but not great. Plant's had some moments on most of his solo albums, but only one or two were consistently good, IMO (Principle of Moments and Fate of Nations, for me). Again, I don't think they'll be anything like they were at their peak, but I think it would be great to see them back together, just like it was great for many folks to see Pink Floyd get together last year for that one-off.

I was too! Hopefully this information turns out to be incorrect - I haven't seen it anywhere else.

I'd go see them if they came reasonably close (unless tickets are through the roof). I wouldn't expect them to sound anything like they did in their heyday, though. Would be nice from a nostalgia point of view. And if they happen to put on a great show, all the merrier. I've enjoyed seeing Yes, Jethro Tull, King Crimson, and other groups that were big in the 70's, though granted all of those groups continued through the 80's and beyond. This is bigger news than Moby Grape because they were a bigger band back then, and their career was cut short by a tragic death. I agree with you about their excess, duds, and ripoffs, too. They were still fun to listen to for me. I think the music of your youth stays with you regardless what it was.
