That was not a good sign as to how this team's character is going to develop. Not at all. Nor was the decision to go for three in the 4th. I didn't like the FG in the 4th either. It still made it a 2 score game, down by 11 after the FG. That was a call that Dennis Franchione would have made.

First, the best team won, no doubt. But I also think after a slow start, the Cowboys played fairly well for a while. They were leading midway through the 3rd quarter. But their defense couldn't stop the Pats, and were on the field far too long. There was a VERY questionable pass interference call on Pat Watkins against Moss in the end zone. In fact, even the announcers thought Moss ran into him, and that Watkins was playing the ball. That gave the Patriots the ball on the one yard line (though in honesty they would have most likely put SOME points on the board on that drive anyway). And that late touchdown was ticky-tack on the Pats part, but it doesn't really bother me. As I said, the best team won. I think the Cowboys are playing well on defense, considering they've missed either Terence Newman or Anthony Henry as their starting CB for every game so far. It's quite a dropoff to the backups. They are also missing their starting nose tackle (Jason Ferguson) and Greg Ellis is just getting back into shape. On offense they're missing Terry Glenn, who adds a dimension to the passing game that isn't there now. Crayton and Hurd have played admirably in his absence, but they're both better suited to the 3rd receiver position. I'm ok with the loss today, overall. There's room for improvement, and they know it. The Pats look possibly better than they have in any of their Superbowl years.

Still early, but the Patriots look GOOD against the Cowboys so far.

A&M stole him from Alabama, where he didn't even give his players the courtesy of telling them he was leaving, until after the fact (and even then it wasn't in person). In fact, he had just gotten done BEGGING the Alabama players to stay and stick it out, despite the risk of NCAA sanctions for something or nother. He also previously left Texas Christian University for Alabama in a similar manner, I've heard. He's a weasel. The initial guy is R.C. Slocum. Yes, bring him back! In fact, he's still on the school's payroll, as a sports ambassador or something. Would work fine for me if they canned Franchione, and made Slocum the interim coach for the remainder of the year.

So order it.

their coach was in some kind of trouble the last couple days. what was it? He was selling a secret newsletter that nobody else knew about, for $1200 per year. The recipients were sworn to secrecy, and he shared info on the players who were injured (which he doesn't make public), and also gave his personal opinion about his own players - i.e. this one's slow, that one can't catch the ball very well, etc. Add that to the fact that he simply hasn't done a very good job in the time he's been at A&M, and there are alot of alumni (like myself) who want him gone. The sooner the better.

I think it's been too long since I've mentioned that A&M is a terrible team, with a terrible coach.

what are you drinking right now?

Drinking Tiger beer from Singapore this evening, which isn't one of the top 100 beers in the world. -
Beatles Live at the Hollywood Bowl, which was only released on Capitol, I believe.

I pay online when they allow me to make one-time EFT payments (phone bill, electric bill, utility bill, auto insurance, and some others). I don't like setting up payments where it automatically comes out of your bank account on a certain day, without you being in charge of the transaction. For those bills (in my case, one credit card and my mortgage payment), I pay those by check. Everything else is paid online though.

Well, you could make a case for including "Hey Jude" and "Magical Mystery Tour," which was a US LP. As well as the live album.

I've only got two of her leader dates ("Even the Sounds Shine" w/Han Bennink, and "The Same River, Twice" a quintet date with Dave Douglas). But both are very good, and if these are representative, I'd seek out more.

top 100 brewers in the world 2007
Aggie87 replied to alocispepraluger102's topic in Miscellaneous - Non-Political
"American tastes" - that's the key. I'm still guessing most of the raters are U.S. based (and have American tastes), and are focused on U.S. microbrews, as catesta mentioned. I don't think it's fair to call this the top 100 brewers in the world. American microbrews are better than the American big brewers for sure. But there are far too many quality beers that aren't on this list, from all over the world. -

That's like statistics - it can be skewed to say what you want it to. "Limited American Bias"?? How many of the total set of raters are American? 5 of the top 20 are American, but how many of the total set of raters are? 80%? I find it curious that the "Minneapolis Town Hall Brewery" for example can be considered a better beer than any number of European beers that I'm familiar with. And there are only 2 German beers on the list, one of which I've tried (Schneider Weisse). I've had numerous German beers that are far better than that one. Again, there's no credibility to this list, and it's far too U.S.-centric. -
Happy Birthday T.D.!

The list is far, FAR too U.S.-centric to be credible. Who were the judges? 74 out of 100 of the world's best beers come from the U.S.? I seriously don't think so. I'm sorry, but there are probably 200 different German beers that are better than 90% of the American beers on this list. -
Ok, now I feel bad!! Where can I buy your cd? Seriously, I wanna buy your cd. Autographed, natch.

Auctionstealer is a sniping site that gives (gave?) you three "free" snipes per week on Ebay. You also have the option to donate money to them and you can get the amount of sniping it does for you increased. I'm definitely not a high volume buyer at all, so 3 per week has been more than enough for me. But logging on today to set up a snipe, I noticed in the field where it tells you how many free snipes you have left, instead of 3/2/1 it now shows an infinity symbol. The layout has been tweaked a tiny bit too. I just want to make sure it still snipes for free, and didn't change to a fee-per-snipe setup.
-
Bumping this up - I just noticed there's an infinity symbol on auction stealer, where it used to show me that I had 3 free snipes per week. Does anyone else use the free version of Auctionstealer? Do they now offer unlimited sniping for free?

Remember to include couw's booklet with it, that's worth more than the original anyway!

Guess this is as good a place to put this as anywhere. From MusicTap: Rhino is wrapping up the Donald Fagen catalogue with a trilogy package called The Nightfly Trilogy. The collected titles are Nightfly, Kamakiriad, and Morph the Cat. This package will contain 3MVIs (the relatives of DVD-A and DualDisc) and 4CDs. The MVI discs will feature the 3 albums in DTS 5.1, DD, and Advanced Resolutions (DVD-A) Stereo (48kHz/24Bit). Each MVI, which will house all music specific to each album, will also contain bonus tracks of rare and previously unreleased music, videos, lyrics, ringtones (what’s with these ringtones?), and web-links. The included extra CD will collect those same bonus tracks into one CD for easy play. The MVI discs will be beefed up with expanded booklets, each with liner notes and track-by-track commentary by Fagen. The first album, The Nightfly (1982), will add “True Companion,” “Century’s End,” and a live version of “Green Flower Street.” That album will also enjoy bonus video clips of “New Frontier,” and “Century’s End.” Kamakiriad (1993) will include added songs, “Blue Lou,” “Big Noise in New York,” “Shanghai Confidential,” and “Confide in Me,” along with an interview with Donald Fagin. The video content for Kamakiriad include clips of “Snowbound,” and “Tomorrow’s Girls.” The final album, Morph the Cat (2006), will mix in bonus live tracks of “Viva Rock & Roll,” “Hank’s Pad,” and a cover of Al Green’s “Rhymes.” Note that each MVI album contains all of the songs in additional MP3s, and will contain .pdf versions of the booklets as well. This truly exhaustive package is slated to drop on November 20 and will retail for $59.98, less if you look around.

T.O. skipped the weekly media session today. This was the note he posted on his locker: Hopefully "the player" is fired up and performs like it on Sunday! (the P.S. on the note says "Getcha Popcorn Ready!")

I'm not completely disagreeing either. My response to GoodSpeak was more about him proclaiming he had an original thought on T.O....."you read it here first". Yeah, right. T.O. HAS been making an effort to work and get along with Romo this season. But I think as long as he's getting the ball "enough" (whatever that is), he'll be fine, regardless of wins or losses. That's more a barometer of how he behaves then when they lose, to me.
