I got the same message for Banyan (Nels Cline thing) last night. Would have been nice to get a warning that it was running low or about to be deleted or something, first.

Received the discs today Chuck, thanks for shipping so quickly, not to mention the packaging. This is the first time I've seen a 3 cd set in a slim-line jewel box - the kind normally designed to hold 2 discs. Kinda cool... Of course, looking forward to the music itself even more!
-
Can you honestly say to the musicians and producers who are regulars on this board that you would copy their CDs and pass them along to friends? Witthout any concern that it's robbing them of income that just might enable them to continue producing this music that we all love? You don't have an ethical problem with that? They ARE your victims in your so-called victimless crime.
-
I agree with Tom on this. Regarding a used cd, royalties were paid to whomever had them coming. Ownership of that copy merely changed hands, and money was made by the seller. Making a CDR creates a copy of the music for which no royalties have been paid to anyone - it's theft. edit - I'm referring to "normal" copies of CDs, not promos as mentioned by WD45.

I hope Nazr Mohammed reaches his potential with the Pistons. He never did with the Spurs. He can score, and he can defend, but he's not aggressive or strong (IMO). Or he's never seemingly played that way.

They didn't pay $27 + $2, they paid a total of $27 (ok they paid $30 and got $3 back). The $27 included the $2 tip.
-
I like that challenge. If you consider that $2 in effect a tip (I'm not sure what service was actually rendered, though), then the men actually handed over $28 in cash for the room itself. Since the cost of the room was $25, their change was $3 ($1 of which went back to each person). No missing dollar when you look at it that way. They each paid $8.33 for the room, plus $0.67 tip to the clerk, for a total of $9.00.

Question to Member "Teasing the Korean"
Aggie87 replied to Saint Vitus's topic in Miscellaneous - Non-Political
As long as he's not named "Goosing the Swede", I won't mind. Actually that's a good question - yes, it's a song title that he chose for his member name. But why that particular song? Maybe he's a huge Bond fan? Or a Barry fan? I dated a Korean girl for two years, a long time ago, and she was a great hearted person. Enjoyed the food alot too! (except for kimche ) -
I generally agree with you, Conn. I love Roy Williams, but alot of others think he's a dirty player too. But that poll is of players, not a fan consensus. It speaks more loudly because of that, I think.

I sure wouldn't mess with Rodney Harrison!!! Pats' Harrison can't wash hands of dirtiest player label For the second time in three years, Patriots safety Rodney Harrison tops Sports Illustrated's list of dirtiest players in the NFL. Of the 361 NFL players polled during the preseason, 23 percent of them pointed to Harrison. Second on the list were Joey Porter of the Steelers and Jon Runyan of the Eagles at 6 percent each. "Do I take perverse pride in this?" Harrison told the Boston media. "All I can say is as many guys as say I'm a dirty player, just as many come up and tell me they admire how I play, the hard work, the commitment, the toughness. That's the pride you're looking for. I take pride in that. "But dirty? I don't think you guys can look in my eyes and say I'm a dirty player." Rounding out the list were Warren Sapp of the Raiders (5 percent), Kyle Turley of the Chiefs (4 percent), Hines Ward of the Steelers (4 percent), Sean Taylor of the Redskins (3 percent), John Lynch of the Broncos (3 percent), Kevin Mawae of the Titans (3 percent) and Olin Kreutz of the Bears (2 percent).

Question to Member "Teasing the Korean"
Aggie87 replied to Saint Vitus's topic in Miscellaneous - Non-Political
My assumption was like what was referred to previously, that's it's a reference to the tune of the same name on the "Goldfinger" soundtrack, and which was also covered by Sex Mob on their "Does Bond" CD. -
Have a great one, Chris!
-
I saw the movie long ago, it doesn't bother me one way or the other. I actually thought it was pretty well done, too. Your comment about Christians (which you now say was NOT tongue-in-cheek) is still bothersome. How is disliking Christians for being Christian any different than hating people of other races for their skin color? Mocking someone for their belief system, just because you don't share it, is pretty sad.

.....so, I'm sitting there leafing through the newest Downbeat (November 06, w/Christian McBride, DJ Logic, & ?uestlove on the cover). Ahhh, there's the advertisement from Blue Note for some of their current/upcoming releases. Let's see, yeah, down on the bottom there's a blurb about the current RVG's. Check. Don Byron's Junior Walker tribute? Check. Jason Moran's "Artist in Residence"? Check. Joe Lovano's "Streams of Expression"? Check. Oh yeah, and last but not least, Steforn Harris's "African Tarantella".
-
Isn't that like a neo-Nazi saying "How can you not love American History X, where a black guy is viciously killed by being curb stomped by the skinhead?" I don't find much humor in your comment, even though I hope it was tongue-in-cheek... edit - I think I piggybacked on 7/4's comment about a skinhead movie....
