  1. I am a big fan of Duke Jordan's lengthy series of albums on Steeplechase.
  2. In 1957 Hank Mobley recorded 5 albums as a leader for Blue Note. I dig all of them. That period is very appealing to me for a few reasons. One is no modal tunes, second is no boog-a-lou or otherwise commercially oriented tunes. This album is a beauty. The tune "Bag's Groove" has been recorded numerous times. The version here is one of my favorites. Bill Hardman's trumpet solo is, to my ears PERFECT. Then Sonny Clark and Mobley play ideally within this idiom.
  3. Beethoven Piano Sonatas No.6, No.12, No.15 - Idei Biret
  4. Robert Schumann - String Quartets Nos. 1, 2, 3
  5. Disc 2 - Steve Turre Sextet, Jerry Weldon Quartet & Trio, George Coleman Quartet, Peter Bernstein Trio
  6. Beethoven - Piano Sonatas No.7, No.9, No.14
