Sessions A & C were remixed from the original three-track masters. Session B was transferred from the original stereo master. Mastered using 24-bit analog-to-digital resolution. Special thanks to Joe Showler for his amazing archive and knowledge, Dan Morgenstern for his valuable input and deep affection for this music and Ian Pickavance for uncovering the master tapes. Masters appear courtesy of EMI Records, Ltd., under license from EMI Music Special Markets. This compilation (p) 2003 EMI Music Special Markets. Producer’s Note: For the recording session live at The Rountdable in New York City (discs one and two), we have restored the music to the order in which the musicians performed it. The three studio albums are in the sequence in which they were first released. Jazz Maverick and all but the last tune of The Dixie Sound Of Jack Teagarden are on disc three. Disc four starts off with the final tune of that album, followed by the ten tunes on A Portrait Of Mr. T and five unissued songs from the same session. We were able to use the original three-track masters on all but the Jazz Maverick session, which has survived only in its stereo LP master form. Unfortunately, the excessive reverb on some of Teagarden’s vocals from that album cannot be reduced.

he's on most of the existing callas videos.

it was actually 3-4 interview clips, i just didn't want to admit to it (but i kept my finger close to the mute button so that i could engage it whenever music played). so, he didn't spend the rest of his life complaining about the sony recording contract? here's 2009, 20 years after the fact, a full david frost episode devoted just to that topic. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tvu3IXcPm18

i watched a couple of interview clips from youtube documentaries. the guy got signed to a bad recording contract when he was young, and spent the rest of his life whining about it.

the man with the big hat

his music was timeless.

i'd maybe revisit a couple of the songs from the first 5 albums if the record company erraced all of jon anderson's vocals. or maybe that's already an option on the remastered cd's. "Sharp distance How can the wind with its arms all around me Sharp distance How can the wind with so many around me"

doesn't work for wsj, but something to keep in mind, if true, for other sites: ... Another way to bypass the NYT paywall (works for The New Yorker too, and probably others), for Chrome users, is to open the link in an Incognito window. I suspect it would also work for Firefox's private browsing mode or an analogous feature on other browsers...
