  15. I couldn´t agree more. "Exciting" is a very good adjective for Little Jazz´s music.
  16. I have no news on this regard, but will ask at the dukelym list. I´m also waiting for the release of the complete 1938 Cotton Club broadcasts on Storyville.
  17. Reportedly this has come out on CD this year, on the Fruit Tree label. Originally it was issued (as an unauthorized and pretty rare LP, I think) on the Unique Jazz label (UJ 20), as shown here: Has anybody got the CD release? Does it include the other three mentioned tracks ('Fables...', 'Blues for...' and 'Peggy´s...'). Here´s the original cover of the Unique Jazz LP: Thanks in advance.
  18. I´ve interviewed Bernd Lhotzky, the wonderful German stride pianist, for Tomajazz. It is now available at: Tomajazz - Main page / News Interview with Bernd Lhotzky
  19. First track on this disc: Not my favorite, but a good one!
  20. From the Library of Congress, taken by Franca R. Mulligan (1976)
  21. Quoted from the Fats Waller Yahoo group:
  22. I went searching for (I'm assuming you mean JSP?) Vol. 1, and they seem to have started with Vol. 2! I've got mine coming from Wherehouse.som, with the extra 30% off (code: bigsale) it's a steal. Finally picked up the Bear Family Nat King Cole tome for about $161 too!! Yes, volume 1 (covering up to 1928) will be the next one to be out. Guess they released volume 2 first because they managed to get all the material and do the remastering first.
  23. Really sad news! I will spin this one as a small tribute to a great musician:
  24. Another recent Fats Waller release, from our Andorran friends: FATS WALLER: COMPLETE VICTOR PIANO SOLOS (Definitive/Disconforme)
