  1. I´m in the patient members camp. In fact, I´m happy this has slowed down the crazy path of the previous BFT.
  2. Since you mention it, I think I remember seeing a studio date with no scheduled date a few months back. Sadly I didn´t save it in my hard drive.
  3. Jazzmatazz only lists: Sonny Rollins - Without a Song (The 9/11 Concert) (Milestone) Aug 30 — with Clifton Anderson (trombone), Stephen Scott (piano), Bob Cranshaw (bass), Steve Jordan (drums), Kimati Dinizulu (percussion); Boston performance from September 14, 2001
  4. Jazz e Arredores blog by Eduardo Chagas (in Portuguese)
  5. Just noticed at Jazzmatazz that there´s an upcoming release by our lady. No street date yet. NEW Sheila Jordan & the ESP Trio - Straight Ahead (Splasc(h) [italy] 871) — Sheila Jordan (vocals), Paolo Fresu (trumpet, flugelhorn), Roberto Cipelli (piano), Attilio Zanchi (bass) and Gianni Cazzola (drums)
  6. So, this is the cover we´ll see...

  8. I´m really shocked by this! From all the bassists who played with Tete Montoliu he was my favorite, by far. In fact I had planned to (try to) contact him to talk about Tete and get some fresh information. Sad, very sad news! One of the best bass players EVER!
  9. Today´s been a very good day for our research: Mr. Hiroshi Tanno just sent me a file with all the relevant information for the Japanese editions of Tete Montoliu discs from 1975 to 2004. This will be a major addition to the project.
  10. Thanks again. It´s great you re-ordered your vinyl collection. We owe you a lot! List on first post updated again.
  11. Johnny Griffin with Horacio Fumero:

    Tete Montoliu

Had it been bigger, this photo could be very interesting. Tete Montoliu, Johnny Griffin, Horacio Fumero & Billy Brooks:
  13. Yes, Chuck. On that March 22, 1980 session for SteepleChase, Hank Mobley plays on "Autum leaves", on an unissued take of "I wanna talk about you" (there´s a trio version that was released in the LP and CD editions) and on an unissued "Early morning stroll". The photo of Hank Mobley included in the inside artwork is not so depressing to these eyes. A gray haired man blowing his horn to a big microphone, eyes looking to another direction. Sorry but I don´t see that "empty and hurt in Hank´s eyes". I´m afraid I have no scanner and can´t post this picture.
  14. Re: the Braxton disc There´s a mistake (at least I think there is) in the liner notes by Phillipe Carles. When he´s describing the second version of "You go to my head", he states: Well, the discographical information on the back cover lists Braxton playing contrabass clarinet. And the photo on that back cover is Braxton playing contrabass clarinet. Just an aside note. Contrabass clarinet Bass clarinet
  15. Great pic! (BTW: thanks to all your replies on this thread, OURS is even bigger than THEIRS)
  16. Thanks! I have no idea who it is, but I thought the colors were kinda cool. Kinda Countish!
  17. Anyway, nothing compares to Mr. Five by Five.
  18. And now, Jim?
  19. Have you been able to find this disc so quickly among your zillions of vinyls? or Do you have these specific data in mind?
  20. Nice avatar, BTW.
  21. brownie: follow the AMG link I posted above.
  22. According to jazzdisco.org discography of Kenny Dorham, it´s Lonnie Liston Smith: Kenny Dorham Sextet Kenny Dorham, Bill Hardman, Richard Williams (tp) Lonnie Liston Smith (p) Peck Morrison (b) Walter Perkins (d) NYC, circa 1965 Confirmation Trip TLX 5036 Sweet Clifford - Blues - * V.A. - A Trumpet Tribute to Fats Navarro, Clifford Brown and Booker Little (Trip TLX 5036)
  23. Wow. Ours is bigger than theirs. Again, err, wow. Please take a look at the subtitle of the thread.
