  3. Hope you had enjoyed your Spanish trip, brownie. Regarding Disconforme emporium, to my knowledge, though legally (due to taxes matters, I guess) they´re place in Andorra, their headquarters are in Barcelona (as his new big Jazzmessengers store). On the Tete releases: -the dates with Nùria Feliu are simply lovely. Nice to hear those old standards traslated into Catalan. The tracks with Booker Ervin are superb (there were a few more, without Nùria and not included in this release). -did you pick the two Lowe-Montoliu volumes? Both are superb. I´ll PM you regarding a ghost track I discovered in volume 2. It´s an unlisted blues that I haven´t been able to identify. I request for you help, once again, for the Tete discography. Thanks in advance!
  4. Same here, Flurin:
  5. FELIZ CUMPLEAÑOS!!!!
  6. Sheila Jordan´s discs for Muse are very good, IMHO.
  7. Thanks, LAL and vibes!
  8. From JazzTimes on-line:
  9. A good bunch of bootlegs, aren´t they? My only guesses are: -for track two: it´s HIM, the greatest living jazz icon nowadays. One of the all-time greatest tenors doing one of his most famous songs, "St. Thomas". The drum solo was too long for my taste. -for track three: tune is "Straight no chaser". -for track four: tunes are "Bye bye blackbird"/"Naima".
  10. Looking for advice. Is there any place where you can find any Steeplechase CD for less than 15€ or $17 ??? Thanks in advance!
  11. CrazyJazz provides a huge list of Classics releases. Only CD listings, no discographical information included.
  12. BTW: you should improve your English spelling They spell Chronogical (sic) and not Chronological
  13. I´m afraid there isn´t, David! You can find partial lists in several sites.

  18. Same here. "Server too busy" message.
  19. First of all, thanks to Tom Storer for a very tasty and listenable compilation. I haven´t got many guesses regarding players, but I´ve identified many of the tunes (I think). Here´s a track by track brief (cause I haven´t got much time to go through this one) review. I hope I´ll do some additional research: 1.- "My favourite things", obviously. Not familiar with the piano player. 2.- This is an old jazz standard composed by Armand Piron and Clarence Williams (hey, the latter is credited as composer for tons of songs from the 20´s and 30´s…. though this is very doubtful according to Chris Albertson´s “Bessie Smith” revised book): “High society” On the players: I´d say the clarinetist is Edmond Hall, so this could be included in http://www.allmusic.com/cg/amg.dll?p=amg&sql=10:pyc8b5p4msqf or in the Mosaic. This would bring Vic Dickenson, Sidney DeParis and James P., if I remember correctly (I should check my CDs). 3.- Beatles bag here (“Can´t buy me love”). Lee Morgan on trumpet? Stanley Turrentine on sax? 4.- “Taking a chance on love”. No clue on players. 5.- “It might as well be spring”. My guess: http://www.allmusic.com/cg/amg.dll?p=amg&sql=10:kzvyxdsb8olf 6.- Yeah, an EKE/Strayhorn composition, “Something to live for”. Singer could be Andy Bey. 7.- “Killing me softly”. Who´s playing alto? Looks like a modern guy. 8.- HAFC 9.- Same 10.- “Them there eyes”. My wild guess is a tenor saxophonist who co-led a quintet with ZS for many years. 11.- A swing small group. Some players I should recognize, I´m afraid. Will give it quite a few more listenings. 12.- “All the things you are”. 13.- “Lester leaps in”, but no idea who´s playing this solo track. Thanks again for a wonderful compilation, Tom.
  20. My jazz/blues collection is now in the 2.000-2.500 interval.
  21. More on Lord CD-ROM (sorry if we´re going off-topic, Chuck): What´s the point of not letting us edit (copy and paste) all the discographical information for one leader or musician? You´re only allowed to copy one session and, when you paste it on an Excel or Word file you discover: -the title of the disc, when included, is not pasted -the footnotes for the sessions are sometimes also excluded You have to try and paste it again and sometimes it works. But if it doesn´t, you have to type that information if you want to make your "own discography" for that artist in Word and print it.
  22. Sorry to read this, Chris! This must have been a terrible blow for a music lover like you.
