  1. I´m sure you have at least three of them...
  2. Let's wait for a day or two more... I thought maybe we could kick it off when more than half of the participants have received the disc; what do you say? Daniel: Next compiler is awaiting to start the sign-up thread! Now seriously, I´d prefer not to delay things many days, as probably I´ll be out of my place for the last two weeks of July.
  3. From Jazzcorner:
  4. Lord CD-ROM lists "Quest Records" for the label field (no release number)
  5. From AAJ:
  6. I have the blue-ish Spanish Time Life edition.
  7. Yes! Life priorities list for most of you, Mosaic freaks: 1.- Mosaic purchases 2.- More Mosaic purchases 3.- Even more Mosaic purchases . . . . . . . . . . . XXXXXXXXXX.- Others (such as eating and other unnecessary habits) YOU´RE ALL CRAZY
  8. LAL, if you simply quit eating, you´d probably save up for many Mosaics more....
  9. Never ordered from Hiroshi Tano Discovered him from all of you, "Japanesse-pressings-freaks" I´ve just gone through his CD catalogue and it has some interesting items. As now I have a Paypal account, I´ll probably order a few discs. Which are his shipping rates? Thanks in advance
  10. You´re right. My preference also varies from time to time. But I try to priorize them, searching through my collection to see which material I previously have. i.e.: I passed on the Vee Jay Kelly/Chambers. It was in my Low Priority rating, because: -I had about half the material in very good sound (to these non-audiophile ears) -Almost all the rest is easily available through Fresh Sound-Vee Jay reissues -The high ammount of alternates somehow upsets me These are some of the criteria I use. Of course, they´re all stupid criteria
  11. Let´s start with concerts adds:
  12. Very sad news! I´ll spin Monk´s dream (with Roswell Rudd) tonight.
  13. I´ve rated my Mosaics wish-list from: 1.-Highest Priority to 3.-Lowest Priority with an additional rule: PURCHASE THE RUNNING LOW/LAST CHANCE ITEMS, UNLESS THEY´RE IN THE LOWEST PRIORITY LIST (well, the last part of the rule is not always carried out)
  14. Duke Ellington and Paul Gonsalves, "Sacred Concert," 1968. Ellington Collection, Archives Center, National Museum of American History.
  15. But he was a very religious man too! Duke Ellington and vocalist DeVonne Gardner, "Sacred Concert" performance at Emmanuel Baptist Church. Archives Center, National Museum of American History.
  16. Stitt! I mean Shit! I don´t have that one.... Well, let´s counterattack: GO AND GET THE DJANGO..... YOU CAN´T MISS THAT ONE!!!
  17. Shaddup! Shut the fek up, all of you!!! I don't need another Mosaic box on my want list. Fek me. May I suggest the HRS sessions as well? B)
  18. Now seriously, if you like piano trios and/or if you like small group swing, this is a great collection of music. Very homogeneus ("too homogeneus" some may say), but if you take it in small doses, you won´t regret this purchase. "Teddy Wilson was the Bill Evans of the swing era"
  19. My friend, I´m afraid I have to agree here... GO AND GET IT NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (no fees from Mosaic, believe me)
  20. Couldn´t find a cover, but FWIW, here´s the discographical information, according to Varela´s James Moody Discography page: *** Year: 1971 *** Label: MPS 15338 *** Performer: JAMES MOODY *** Album: TOO HEAVY FOR WORDS *** Date: 12/08/1971- *** Reedition: *** Songs: East of the sun, Vezzioso, Good bait, Wee dot, The underdog, Mr George *** Musicians: James Moody, Al Cohn (ts), Barry Harris (p), Sam Jones (B), Roy Brooks (dr)
  21. The recently gone Morgan/Shorter, disc 2...
