Leon Spencer - Legends of Acid Jazz is good, but not the prog flavor that you are looking for.
Melvin Sparks - Legends of Acid Jazz an excellent cd, but again, more greasy goodness than prog.

Over the years, I have become more interested in jazz beyond the US borders - been a fan of Nucleus, Embryo, Peter Brotzmann, The Thing, etc.

Halftime, looks like a shocker in the making. France looks terrible, and if South Africa scores another goal they have a shot of advancing! Uraguay over Mexico, but still more to play.
While not a comic book, the anime Cowboy Bebop uses a lot of jazz elements in the series. I am not an anime fan, BTW, but this is a wonderful show.

I went to Target and picked up the bonus disc. Earlier this year I came across a nice original lp copy of Exile, and was blown away by the sound, which was more "alive" sounding than subsequent lp pressings.
