  1. An indication as to how hot this sale is! Something to consider -- given the vast back catalog, is this just the first wave?
  2. I did 35. You bastids! The K2s are worth it alone. Picked up a bunch of smaller stuff, like Birdlanders, JFK Quintet, etc.
  3. Now if we can get you guys to come to DC.......
  4. I remember seeing several episodes at the Library of Congress.
  5. Look, if his presence on the board bothers people, then just don't read it. Simple. I haven't read a post from him since he was on the old BNBB. My life on this board is happier for it.
  6. I got the second volume this evening. Fantastic! Thanks Allen!
  7. Thanks guys. Yes, bertrand, I went to work today. For those who don't know, I work at the National Gallery of Art, and we have been in the middle of that fierce rainstorm and flooding this past week. Many buildings, including the Archives, which was badly flooded, waist high I hear, the IRS headquarters, Department of Justice, and the American and Natural History Museums were all shut down this week. Employees, though on liberal leave, still came to work. I'm liking the idea of stomping around in an empty museum with lots of pretty pictures to look at. But it has been hellish this week.
  8. Still have a body of a 25 year old (according to the doctor) and the mind of a 10 year old! Thanks all!
  9. Poor article, and typical of a reviewer who doesn't know how to listen, or thinks too much while listening. Damn faint praise indeed.
  10. It may not change anything for now. However, when you lose the connections to the company and how the catalog was built and maintained, the new folks who run it may not give it the same attention and care.
  11. I don't see any improvement in the US team when they play the World Cup. They have yet to find a way to elevate their game in the biggest of tournaments.
  12. ZZZZZZZZZZZZ
  13. I have mentioned in the past that I don't listen to a lot of pre WW2 jazz, but I bought the first box and LOVED it! The music is carefully selected and though it is 9 cds, it flows! I'm getting the next set ASAP!
  14. He did some wonderful work for EC in their final years as a comic book company -- his sense of composition, thick black lines were gorgeous. An excellent comic book artist.
  15. It went up due to the greed of Major League Baseball.
  16. oh, mighty Apple!
  17. I've been a Mac man for all my life, but recently I purchased a Dell PC for the purpose of learning new software that is PC only -- I'm looking to expand my computer skills, so I can expand my horizons in looking for a new job. I didn't want to buy a new monitor, and I know there are devices to connect two computers to one monitor. Now, the catch is a Mac and a PC. Can I use any device available (I think they are called KVM switches)? I'm open to suggestions.
  18. Forums? What forums? There were forums here???
  19. GIVE Chuck your money!!! The box set is worth every penny!! I still enhjoy mine, though I have to wrestle with it at times to get the cds out of the slipcase......
  20. Happy birthday! All the best!
  21. ...... in addition to the Captain and Tenille collection you keep boasting about, that alone can rot foam, wiring, and the faux wood panelling of the speakers!
  22. The problem for me is that I have not met anyone who is interested in dating an "artist." Sure, it sounds cool when you are telling your friends that you are dating an artist, but to have a relationship? Not in my world, try as I might. Problem too is living in DC there are too many people who don't look favorably on my profession, for whatever reason. I've met and went out with some nice ladies, but I have never had a long term relationship. I like where I live and my job, but socially it is rough. I am in a deadly circle that is hard to get out of.
  23. Heard from bertrand yesterday. I tried to post a note here but the board was down, at least temporarily. Moncur was supposed to be smoking, I mean freakin fantastic! If he comes to your town, check him out -- he has a working group that is all great. Hopefully we'll get more details about the NYC concert.
