  10. RIP Big Jay and thanks for all those honks. In 1990, he was playing in Berlin, in a club close to the wall, when it began to be taken down. Next day, Berlin papers announced "Big Jay blew the Berlin Wall down!" This is similar to my favourite t-shirt Thanks Adam for posting that video of his 91st birthday. Gonna overdose and play all my Big Jay later. MG

  17. Ah, got it to work. Joel Dorn described it as the most exciting live jazz recording he'd ever heard. Well, this from a man who'd previously released Sonny Stitt's album with Don Patterson & Billy James live at the Left Bank is saying a bit TOO much - but he was trying to sell records. It is indeed very, very good Ray Bryant, a solo gig, recorded by him, somewhere he'd forgotten after all the years - hence the title. MG
