  1. I can't keep up! I just purchased the Kris Davis, Ches Smith and Vandermark Clean Feeds, and they turn around and release more! I'll try to report on the new Book of Three at some point. BTW, the Tim Daisy download - only release Streets in Time with Bynum is excellent, and not expensive.
  2. Let's all get over the grumps and move on. I've been posting on both forums for awhile now and both have neat people who are intelligent, and passionate about the music we love. Getting everyone posting on Organissimo will be a great thing.
  3. I'll vouch for Ron! And yes, even (thelil), bless his soul.
  4. Thanks...I'll probably have to pop for this.
  5. Yes, love this band. I wish Helias recorded more often.
  6. A lot of people apparently want to put things up other peoples' backsides for some reason.
  7. Oh yes, Johnny! Also: Veruca Salt - Blow it out your ass it's Veruca Salt
  8. Buddy Rich - Stick It Los Lobos - Burn It Down Al Di Meola - Kiss My Axe I know I'm missing some...
  9. Thanks for the heads up. Tim Daisy has some interesting releases on his Relay Recordings label, http://timdaisy.wordpress.com/relay-recordings/
  10. June 2 at Rubber Gloves in Denton: Dave Rempis Percussion Quartet! Unfortunately it's a Sunday night, and they're the last of 3 bands.
  11. I love his playing on George Russell's Live At Beethoven Hall. I think he's on some other Russell recordings that were releases on BS/SN.
  12. Yes, and I like all the ECM releases as well.
  13. Cool idea, but...Mary Wilson?
  14. Sounds like a great night - I need to listen to some of his work again.
  15. Steve, I think Allen is being what the kids call "snarky" about the usual suspects showing up every year. But having Kris Davis and Tomas Fujiwara is a nice change of pace.
  16. AND Tomas Fujiwara and the Hook Up! That would be my night if I could go.
  17. Yes, that would be great. Thanks for the heads up on the live recording via his site. So, I gather the first Book of Three CD was good?
  18. I'm interested in your thoughts on it. I haven't bought much of his recent stuff. He's like Joe Lovano to me - a great player whose recordings aren't as interesting as they used to be.
  19. It was great meeting everybody; sorry I missed the photos! The concert was great, and you should have heard JSngry guesting on tamborine! Doesn't he look like Evan Parker's long lost brother? My brother-in-law, who is not experienced in this type of music, liked it too. We'll have to do it again.
  20. Thanks for the tip - I'll take a listen. I have an old Omnitone release by Mike Lee called My Backyard. (If it's the same Mike Lee)
  21. Here's a photo my brother-in-law took before the show:
  22. Yes, thanks for posting this. It's a nice way to encapsulate what this genre of music means to us in the audience.
  23. Steve, DMG is getting it and taking pre-orders. It's $100.00
