Agreed 100%. I’ve learned to like a lot of music by keep playing it. Sometimes you just never reach that point where it works out for you, but a lot of times you do. My shelves are full with music by artists I did not really appreciate at first. Among them are Horace Tapscott, Jackie McLean, Sam Rivers and Wayne Shorter. I wouldn’t want to live without them now!

It’s been a while I spun that record but remember that I was slightly disappointed and expected more from this line up. I had trouble with the vocals. Perhaps I should revisit it and give it another try.

Pass for mee too. Got it on vinyl and the cd with most of the extra tracks.

No idea to be honest. I like some of those: the Uri Caine, the Masada String Trio, the Erik Friedlander, the Bar Kokhba, the Mark Feldman and the Craig Taborn. For me Zorn is putting out way too many records. Its really quantity above quality. I really like some of his projects but it's pretty hard to find them as I don't feel listening to all of the stuff that he puts out.

Such a nice guy he is. One listen to Wonderwall says enough to me. We shouldn’t take the man too serious. But if he’s serious with that remark about four people that are all playing different things by themselves at the same time it seriously shows his lack of musical knowledge and hearing. Poor fellow.

such a powerful live date this is. Clifford Jordan at his best. Speaking about Clifford Jordan: I’ve ordered the new P-Vine/Groove Diggers release of In The World in December 2022. It was supposed to be released in march but got postponed to September. It’s almost October now and still no sign of it. Anyone else here with that in pre order?

Yeah both are very nice but the Middelheim stands out in sound quality. Makes you wonder how good the rest of the concert is….

Curious to how the original pressing sounded. The reissue really surprises me in sound quality. I know, and the booklet also clearly state, that recording conditions were far from optimal but I think it really sounds good, especially Pharoahs tenor where you could actually hear him breathe and his fingers going over the horn. It’s really miles better than the bootleg I had
