This week I got a €80 rebate from my electricity/gas supplier for the last 12 months.

Last I checked their range of stocked titles was modest. Who knows how many copies they have, though. Could it be part of a sinister Trumpocalypse against degenerate art?

Hopefully they simply quickly sold a whole bunch of the Woody Shaw and it will be on Running Low for some time. (It came back in stock only in January.) I just could not take the chance of Jazz Messengers going out of stock and having to order from the USA and pay tens of euros extra on shipping and customs. The customs shakedown is especially galling, politicians and bureaucrats interfering with people's hobbies.

Woody Shaw Muse This news comes one month too soon for me. Shit. I was led to believe there was plenty of the Shaw set back in stock. Oh well. Ordered through Jazz Messengers just now.

I had never heard of this release, but was thankfully able to download FLAC copies of all sessions through BlogSpot this afternoon. After listening to the Joe Henderson tracks I have to say I wish I owned a copy on CD. Still, as mikeweil said here in 2005, there is something missing in the bottom frequency range. It all sounds a bit harsh.

I read Zen more than twenty years ago, but don't remember the first thing about it.
