Got up to 91 degrees today. At 753pm it's 83 degrees.

Glad tornados aren't a fact of life here although one did touch down one mile from the station a few years back. However it is hot and dry here and at this time of the year we're just one lightning strike away from a big forest fire.

A former music critic for The Dallas Morning News, Michael Cochran, once wrote a column about the "most overrated musicans" of all time, and included Bird (as well as Otis Redding!) on the list. His blurb was something along the lines of: "Sounded like he was making it all up as he went along. Guess what? He was." Yeah, THAT'S astute criticism! Just goes to show that Music critic standard for the Dallas Morning News aren't terribly high? Why not hire that dog that knows 200 words?
