  1. Yeah, that was the other one that was really disturbing.
  2. The bathtub one was incredibly disturbing. WTF?
  3. What about all those artists that are in the limelight that are still doing great music and are fine human beings. For example, someone like Peter Gabriel. I realize he's not the "King of Pop", but he's been in the business for 40 years and is still making really fresh, great music and also working hard on humanitarian issues and also nurturing new talent. Contrast that with isolating one's self in a self-made "fairy tale land" mansion and playing with boys. I don't buy this blame game.
  4. Our very own Mark Sheldon did the photography for the release. Has that been mentioned yet? How cool is that?
  5. Let's stay on topic regarding the article posted. I'm a little wary of having a thread about porn here.
  6. We're paid for the next several months. No sweat.
  7. Link doesn't work, but if it's to the old design with the old logos and such, we have a new logo and color scheme. I'm not going back to the old one. The brown T-shirt isn't etched in stone, although I think it looks nicer than a regular old white or black one.
  8. Yes, it's finally time. Time for organissimo T-shirts! Pick your favorite 2 designs and vote above! Here are the designs: Design #1: Design #2: Design #3: Design #4: Keep in mind, we'd like to sell these at gigs as well so something that is not necessarily forum-specific would be best, imo. Thanks!
  9. We're at about $1700 once Paypal fees are taken out. Not so bad!
  10. My guess is that the Pistons are shopping Rip.
  11. According to tech support, we had a user level compromise. A hack was running a service that was scanning other websites. They took care of it, but also deleted my main account... not happy about that. Gotta figure out a way to get that back.
  12. You should write back, "No, I don't use LAME either. No mp3s are available for download."
  13. Got another $440 in checks today. That brings out total up to around $1300. Thanks, everyone!
  14. We're currently at $833, not subtracting the Paypal fees (3% I believe). And I have not had a chance to get to the PO yet. Will do that Monday. Thanks, everyone!
  15. These kind of rulings will prove to have the exact opposite effect that the RIAA wants them to have. Instead of scaring people, more people will view the RIAA as the monster it has become and "fight the power", so to speak.
  16. Yeah, Peter and his lovely wife Laura and Templejazz came out last night! It was a real treat to hang out! Thanks, guys!
  17. Yeah, it is a convention mainly for jazz radio and press folk. I don't know if it's open to the "public" in that sense. You could always pretend to be our road manager.
  18. I reviewed this thread last night... memories... of the Pistons season going down the drain after four games. Congrats to the Lakers. I didn't watch any of the Finals games.
  19. Old Leslies are like old Hammonds; they all sound different, even if they are the same model. You can get a Leslie 122 and it might sound great or it might sound like crap. It all depends on how it was maintained, how the tubes are, how the capacitors are, how the speakers are, etc. The nice thing about new ones is that you know what you're getting. Also, the new ones interface more easily with the new Hammonds, utilizing the 11 pin connection. With the old ones, you need to use a converter box and that just adds one more thing in between that has the potential to break. When I used my 122 with the XK System, I had one of those converters boxes (from Hammond) and it started developing problems after a year on the road, at one point having a component failure that caused the speed switching not to work. So with all that said... I would go new. Either the 3300 or the new 21 system.
  20. Mark, we'll be back on Thursday performing at the Jazzweek Summit at around 5pm. We'll hang out as much as possible in Rochester that evening, but we have to start heading back west that night. I have a festival performance with Root Doctor in Fort Wayne, Indiana on Friday night!
  21. Thanks, Tom! It was great to finally meet you in person!
  22. I think you have several options. If you want to buy new, I'd go with either the Leslie 3300 or the new Leslie 21 mk II system. I saw Roger Smith with Tower of Power two years ago (sitting directly behind him backstage) and he had his B3-P running through two Leslie 21 systems (the originals, not the mk II). It sounded killer! The new mk II has a tube preamp, like the 3300. If you put in a NOS (new old stock) RCA or other good brand tube (specifically a 12AT7 instead of the stock 12AX7), you can get very close to the 122 grunge with the 3300. I am assuming that the new 21 mkII has the same tube circuit as the 3300 (though I don't know that for sure) and is definitely more portable than the 3300. You can hear my combination of the 3300 and my XK3 / XK Traditional System here:
  23. If they are nothing but ugly, then they should be deleted. Personal clashes between two members are just ugly and should be resolved privately if possible.
