  1. What was the topic? I might've been editing it as you were posting. There are some topics that, for one reason or another, are not showing "topic starter", and so I am manually editing those. We might have been working on the same topic at the same time.
  2. What is your email address? Also, I have someone else's private messages stored in my private message area. Did I fix it?
  3. Epistrophy looks like he/she re-signed up yesterday, member 1451. Are his old posts going to be added to his new account, or are you trying to tie his old posts back to his old account? This is confusing to me. edit - never mind. I think I understand... He actually signed up and was assigned member number 1333. I manually set his member number, in three different tables in the database, to 1451, which was his old member number. The only way I am able to determine what a deleted member's original member number was set to is by cross-referencing one of the member tables that did not get deleted using their old email address. Unfortunately, this particular table does not contain the member name, only the user ID number, email address, and specifics about passwords, PMs, etc. Another question for felser and ep1str0phy... are your old PMs still there?
  4. ANY MEMBERS WHO GOT DELETED: Please re-register and email me your old email address (the one you used to register on the board the first time) and I will get your old posts linked to your new registration. Hopefully Magnificent Goldberg will see this!
  5. AHH!!! Sweet!!! It is working! It's just not reflecting the correct post count. I think that would require a special query to the database in the admin panel. I have an option for "rebuilding user post counts", but it's very server intensive. I'll probably try it tonight after the gig and see if it will make the post counts of "lost" members match up to their posts. I just did the same thing with member "ep1str0phy" and it seemed to work as well: http://www.organissimo.org/forum/index.php...topic=26723&hl=
  6. Does anyone know of a recent post by felser that I could look at and see if it's attaching his name?
  7. I'm still really pissed off about this. I just tried re-attaching a user who got deleted (felser) to his posts using some cross-reference points in the database, and it didn't seem to work. Not sure if there's anything else I can do... I'll keep researching. I apologize profusely for this... especially since the mistake was all my fault.
  8. Hello members, As most of you probably saw, the forum was down for a few hours today due to my own incompetence. After arriving home from the dentist this afternoon, I logged into the forum to find a SQL error ("too many connections"). Usually when this happens, I go into the database and clear a table called "forumsessions", which basically boots everyone who is on the board (and thus connected to the database) at once. Well, through my haze of dental numbness, and Zora clamoring for lunch, I accidentally emptied the wrong table. I emptied a table called "forummembers" which contains all the info for every member of the forum, including the username, passwords, post counts, avatars, signatures, email addresses, etc. etc. "Oops," I thought. But no big deal because on March 22nd, if you remember, I found out that there was no back-up in place for my server and immediately ordered weekly backups at $50 per month. So, I figured I would call tech support, have them restore the missing table, and everything would be fine. Well, my order for weekly back-ups never went through. That's right. They didn't process the order. "Ok," I thought, "I have some backups of my own that should work." Wrong. I lost many of my own backups in a harddrive crash last winter. The others were not done correctly (operator error) on my part and thus unusable. Long story short: I found an old backup from July of 2005 that worked. Unfortunately, we've lost about 400+ new member accounts that had signed up between now and then. If you registered for this forum between July 2005 and now, you're account is gone. Your posts are still there, but they will appear to be written by no one. Here is what you can do if your account is no longer active: Please re-register with the same email address you used the first time. Please send me an email telling me what that email address is. There are some left-over tables from the database that I might be able to cross-reference, using your email, in order to link your old posts to your new registration. I'm not promising anything, but it's worth a shot. Thank you all in advance for your understanding. I have asked Invision directly for suggestions on how to adequately back up this board so this does not happen again (since my hosting company seems to be inept). Any concerns or questions can be sent to me directly at info@organissimo.org Thank you! ps. You might have noticed that your post counts are different. When I imported the table from the old database, the post counts reflected the date of that table (July 2005). So then I used a tool to recount the board statistics, including individual post counts. Your count is probably smaller due to deleted threads and deleted posts. When you delete your own post, your post count stays the same. Only when I run this tool does it reflect changes from posts that are no longer in the database.
  9. Oh yes, this video is so awesome it defines what awesome can be... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VwGdXZ6o2xs
  10. UP, 'cuz I saw that Conn was trying to post about this.
  11. Okay, but just so you know, I'm not backing you up if say I'm gonna f*Ck yer girlfriend, and the dude decides to kick your ass. Then I'll say that you're going to f*ck his girlfriend. You're the cute one, anyway. By the way, that Aldo Nova video rocked my world.
  12. Call it "Jazz For Satan" and see how that flies with the church peeps. But seriously, it is very cool of you to take the initiative for something like this. If the scene ain't there, CREATE ONE!
  13. Here's another one for ya: WATCH OUT, JACO!
  14. Greg and I were commenting on how loud that must've been. Notice, no mics on the guitar amps. Why would you need to mic them? That shit must've been just incredibly painfully loud.
  15. You know it... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cYOV8uu17t0
  16. Just a reminder to our southeast Michigan contingent. We'll be at the Firefly Club this Friday, starting at 9:00pm. Details: Friday, Apr 28 - 9:00 PM - 1:00 AM Firefly Club 207 S Ashley St Ann Arbor, MI 48104 Phone: (734) 665-9090 www.fireflyclub.com I hope to see some organissimo forum members out!
  17. Yes, being "baited" on an internet discussion forum is cause for threatening to kill someone and wishing cancer upon their family members.
  18. Those who say there's no interesting new jazz musicians are either not looking hard enough, or have a very narrow view of what jazz is, in my opinion. (I'm not directing this at anyone personally). There is a slew of really interesting things going on, but none of it is on Verve.
  19. ...that's some funny stuff.....f#cker! Those people need to get out more.
  20. That's a pretty stupid way to try and kill yourself.
