  1. But it was a gift from me to you, wasn't it?
  2. Just trying to save you some bread, my friend.
  3. Thanks John! Just a quick note... CDBaby is currently sold out, but I sent them more on Monday. Hopefully they will have them back in stock by Friday or Monday at the latest. When they do, you better... GIT YER ORDER IN!!!!
  4. AHHHH! It's the attack of the Yahoo search engine bots!!!!! At least, that's what I hope they are. Almost all the guests IP addresses start with 68.142.xxx.xxx which is registered to Yahoo, so I'm assuming it's their search engine. But why they multiplying, I don't know!
  5. We're in Kalamazoo on Sept. 9th, not Ann Arbor. Kalamazoo is about two hours from Ann Arbor, I believe.
  6. Pierre Bernard's Recliner of Rage - A long-running comedy bit in which Late Night staffer Pierre Bernard Jr. sits in a recliner and relates a story that has angered him personally recently. This tale is always a long, drawn-out personal tale delivered in a soft-spoken tone that usually involves some sort of comic-book, sci-fi-related, or similarly esoteric medium.
  7. He's just jealous because he's an organist but he could never play like Jimmy Smith, no matter how hard he tried.
  8. Guess what I'm asking my wife as a gift for Christmas? Great news!
  9. That's because some lady to the left of me was asking for some modern R&B tune by Kym (I think!?) "It's on the radio right now," she said. It's funny what some people request.
  10. Tell Halle hi for me. Haven't seen her in awhile. Happy birthday, my organ playing brother from another mother!!
  11. I saw Dr. Lonnie Smith there last May. He's played there a lot. I'm sure McDuff went through there, too. As for "Walk On The Wild Side", that's one I'm going to have to learn. I basically know it, just have to refresh. If we're playing Detroit or just "organ" rooms, people are going to request that. Good idea on "Mojo". That would've been a good choice to calm the masses.
  12. We sold a lot of CDs, both old a new. I know we sold at least 20 copies of the new one and probably a dozen of the old. I don't know how many old discs I had, but we left with none. It was a great night all around. I wish you could've met my wife, Paul, but she had to leave before you were able to be seated. I gotta start going over some organ standards! We don't usually play those for the rooms we play, but at a place like Baker's, people know the history of the music. I did my best with what was being thrown at me! Thanks Paul, Chuck, Ann, and Carla for coming out! We really appreciate it!
  13. Yes, I got it. As Claude says, the PM system now only saves messages if you click the little box that tells it to save the message before you send it.
  14. Check out this guy's DIY guitar!! http://www.prodigy-pro.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=9381
  15. $40 to fill up my minivan after the gig last night. Ouch. And it'll be all gone by tonight, after driving to and from Baker's.
  16. Nice little snip-it from Dick Crockett on 88.7 in Sacramento:
  17. By the time we pay for postage and mailers, it works out to about the same.
  18. Allen I apologize for making incorrect assertions, but I still don't see the correlation between this thread and the other.
  19. Reminds me how a local paper here in Lansing had a Top 5 All Time Greatest Rock Albums and they listed one of Led Zepplin's, calling Zepplin the quintessential American rock band.
  20. Not really. In post four, which is located here, Weizen recounts that some young dummy thought Pearl Harbor was in 1066 and that she "then said something about having just received a big promotion at her principal place of employment.....some large insurance company." Obviously a joke, but it ties in to what you were saying. For the record, I don't really care if threads go in different directions that originally intended. I do care when someone posts garbage with the sole intent of trying to derail the thread, which is what you did, even after it became obvious that the original post wasn't spam. As for being clique-ish, of course this place is clique-ish. Go find a message board that isn't... I bet you can't. Go find a bar that isn't... I bet you can't. Go find any aspect of society that doesn't have its cliques. I try to treat everyone as fairly as I can, but I can't read every post or reply. I'm sure I've missed some instances where someone has called out a post as being spam.
  21. Weizy, you don't want to go to Boston!!! That's the liberal capital of the WORLD!!!!
  22. Allen, c'mon. This thread is nowhere near the same thing as what happened in the DVD/LP thread where, starting with post #2, you posted almost two pages of worthless jabber because you thought the original post was spam (how that helps even if the post is spam, I have no idea). Even after several posters said it wasn't spam, you got defensive and snippy. And I don't think I vilified you anywhere in that thread. This thread, on the other hand, has had a rather natural progression.
  23. Thanks, Jim, Alexander, and Matthew. I know I keep saying it, but we're very proud of the record. Here's hoping that it leads to some bigger things. We got together to rehearse for the first time in a month yesterday and it felt real good. Came up with some new song ideas, one of which is a nasty shuffle thing. Gotta keep pushing!!!
  24. Nice little write-up in the Detroit Free Press this morning: http://www.organissimo.org/freep.htm
  25. If I steal that idea, do I have to credit you?
