So riddle me this, Batman... I've been looking into selling things on Amazon. I've heard of the Amazon Advantage program through CDBaby. Basically, you pay a $29.99 annual fee (why not just make it $30?! I mean, really...), you ship them some discs, set your suggested retail price, they set some arbitrary selling price on their own, totally unrelated to your MSRP, and when an item sells, they take 55%. That seems pretty steep. Method two involves selling an item for free (meaning no annual fees) through their Marketplace feature. You ship the item, they take $0.99 plus 15% of the sale price plus they credit you for shipping, so you don't actually pay shipping. Um.. so why would anyone use the Amazon Advantage program?!!?

2005 NBA Championship

I didn't know that about Horry. He's a great clutch player. My question is why didn't the Pistons give their own clutch player, Mr. Big Shot, Chauncey Billups, the ball for the last play?!? Rip was out of control. -
Happy birthday, CJ!!! Hope you have a good one!

No shit, Duncan was horrible from the freethrow line. Pistons should've won this one. I'm very disappointed they left Horry open. As soon as I saw him inbound the ball I thought, "Someone better step out on him!" He was wide open. Stupid stupid stupid. -

DAMN!!!! Pistons really have an uphill battle. They should've won this one. Why would you leave Horry open!??? Didn't they learn anything from the Kings/Lakers series!??! Oh well.... it ain't over yet. -

I think that's what Ben calls the "Shaq Attaq". -
Today was pretty good. My wife made me a nice dinner, but I've been couch-laden with horrible back pain all day. I hurt my back last Saturday moving the B3 and haven't had time to rest it, I've been playing one or two gigs a day since then. Thankfully, my next hit isn't until Thursday.

Jim, the engineer who recorded our soon-to-be released record would love to talk to you. He recently bought the Neve 8068 console from Muscle Shoals. He has read through this thread and once things dies down a bit, will probably post.

After watching Ginobili for these past five games, I don't think he's a very good player at all. I think he's crafty and exploits the fact that refs almost never call traveling. Every time he makes one of those "how'd he do that?" plays, it's because he travels. Just a moment ago he made a drive to the basket and when they showed it in reply from the camera on top of the backboard, I counted four whole steps between his last dribble and making the layup. -
You dog!!!! Have a great time! I'm hoping the band comes through Michigan.

I think most of the errors are probably from moving the database so many times. The interesting thing is that the posts are there. I was able to fix everything by just "editing" the posts and not changing anything, just going into the editing screen and submitting the "changed" post. So all the information is there. Something is just getting in the way of displaying the post... some extra character or missing character or some small error in the database. Probably what would help is to run some tools on the database to scan for any anomalies and fix them. Maybe I can do that tonight.

I know, but from the praise lavished upon this guy from some people, you'd think he had something really special to offer. ← The music biz is 99% hype. Once I realized that, it got much easier and enjoyable to listen to records. I don't worry about what everyone is saying, I listen and make judgements based on its merits or lack thereof. For instance, you mentioned Amos Lee. I saw him on the Early Show last week while watching my baby daughter. I wasn't expecting much. Then when the band kicked in, I thought "Ok, this is kinda neat." Then he started singing and his voice was not what I was expecting. I was nicely surprised. Then the song didn't go anywhere and I flipped the channel! I had no idea he's recording for BlueNote. And it would be safe to assume he's getting a lot of hype, since he's on the Early Show, but so what? Concerning John Mayer, I didn't think much of him until I saw him on that Crossroads festival movie. He can play! I'm not thrilled with his voice either, but he can play guitar. Can he play jazz? Does it matter? -

I wouldn't be so quick, although I want Detroit to win the championship again. One could've easily said that the Spurs broke the Pistons after kicking their butts two straight games. Obviously that didn't happen. It would be great if the Pistons won again tonight! If they lose, they really have an uphill battle. This is a pivotal game. GO PISTONS!!! -
Seriously, you should go to a doctor, dude. What's wrong with your parents!?
-
My parents would've put up with that for about, oh... two seconds. I remember the ONE time I refused to eat what my mom made for dinner. Guess what I got instead? Nothing and a trip to my bed. I still remember how much my stomach hurt and how hungry I was all night. It only took once and from then on out I ate what my mom put in front of me.

You guys have no idea. I used to be a cereal junkie and I ate all the most wretched, sugar-encrusted crud you could find. I loved it all. Then I became lactose intolerant and every time I ate a bowl of cereal it was like WWII in my stomach. Yes, I've tried soy milk (yuk...) and lactose free milk (same results as with regular milk) so I decided to just give up milk altogether and thus my beloved late-night, after the gig bowl of cereal. I'm a much happier man. But in my heyday, I ate it all: Booberry, Frankenberry, Count Chocula, Lucky Charms, Golden Grahms, Fruit Loops, Trix, Raisen Bran, Frosted Flakes, Sugar Puffs, Honey Comb, Kellogg Corn Pops (gotta have my pops!), Life, Cinnamon Toast Crunch, Cookie Crisp, Cocoa Puffs, Frosted Mini Wheats, Quaker Oat Squares, Cap'n Crunch, Cheerios, Honey Nut Cheerios, Reese's Pieces cereal, Chex (all varieties), Rice Crispies, Cocoa Crispies, etc.

I think Daughters is a pretty good tune and what's so bad about that lyric? Of all the horrible lyrics foisted upon the world by pop musicians, that's hardly the worst. Not even slightly the worst. I wouldn't want him playing on a Herbie record, though.
