  1. Can you create folders?
  2. When Big Ben is making jumpers, you know it's going to be a good game! Beating San Antonio by 31 points?! That's sick!! :bwallace2:
  3. I love Bill Simmons. One question, however... did he ever mention any of the horrific non-calls and/or calls against the Pistons against the Heat? I was playing a gig, so I didn't see the plays he mentions (although I do not doubt they happened... the referree-ing has been very strange during the whole playoffs) but there were some absolutely ridiculous calls in the last series.
  4. So why haven't the Pistons been playing like that all series long? Criminey.
  5. Thanks! I do my best.
  6. Lonnie Smith's "Think" is BAD! GREAZY! It's a no-brainer in my book.
  7. That should be fine. For the best possible sound, what you should do is get the Shure SM57 and a short mic stand (for mic'ing the amp) and a stand-alone mic preamp, single channel. I suggest the Studio Projects VTB-1 (it has gotten great reviews compared to other products in it's price range) or the Presonus TubePre. Both are good and can be had for around $100. Be careful... the Presonus Blue Tube sounds like crap, but the TubePre is good. The tube pre is here: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...7330104461&rd=1 What you do is run the microphone into the preamp and then the preamp out into the line input on your soundcard. You'll be in mono, so you'll only go to the left or right side (doesn't really matter). Does that help?
  8. No, that would not work. That is most likely a guitar input, not a mic input. Microphones need a lot of clean amplification to boost their signal to usuable levels. What kind of sound card do you have?
  9. What do you have for a microphone preamp? The best all-purpose guitar amp mic you could buy for under $500 is the Shure SM57. Pair it with a decent preamp and you'll be set. Remember, mic placement oftentimes makes more of a difference than the mic or the preamp or the recording medium. If you like the sound of the guitar and the amp in the room, then you should be able to get that sound into the computer with the right mic placement.
  10. That would be even more of a stretch!!! (ie, playing two keys on different manuals with the same hand!)
  11. I remember when I was young, a friend's father, who played stride piano, told me to practice 10ths with my left hand. "Do it now, because when you get older, it'll be harder to do." I used to have problems with those long stretches, but they are pretty comfortable now.
  12. I don't know but he looks like Tayshaun Prince (from the Detroit Pistons).
  13. I agree that the Pistons starters should be considered stars, but are they considered stars by the public and/or the media? Have RIP or Chauncey ever played in the All-Star game? Nope. It's ridiculously unfair, but for some reason they've been snubbed.
  14. He could've, but from everything I've read, Larry was a big guy and did have large hands. I don't think he'd have any problems hitting that interval. Also, the standard jazz organ settings differ from the upper manual and lower manual, so playing that one note on the lower and everything else on the upper would cause that note to stick out... or actually not stick out, due to the registration. It would get buried. And it's definitely in there.
  15. It's actually very easy. You build the chord in fourths starting on the E. So the chord would be E, A, D, and G on top, all evenly spaced. Then hold the G where it is, and move the bottom three notes up to F, Bb, and Eb. Then move them up again to G, C, and F while still holding that top G. Voila! Instant Larry Young nuttiness!
  16. Mike, I'm talking about at the very end of the tune, after the head-out.
  17. Yes, a great example is the ending on "Ritha". That's some McCoy stuff!
  18. I like how Ginobli can run over anyone he wants and not get an offensive foul. That said, Detroit is playing like shit. 'Sheed needs to shut his mouth and score.
  19. Did anyone else think from the title of the thread that this was going to have something to do with HBO?
  20. I like on Luny Tune, during his solo, how he deconstructs the form and goes off on a total harmonic tangent, only to seamlessly arrive back where he left off. Masterful!
  21. I, and I hope everyone on this board, care about domestic violence and rape, whether the rapist is famous or not. As for "gleefully watching as the man buries himself", I have never watched one of his fights nor do I intend to. He made his own bed. The whole world is full of shysters, con-men, users, and other people who will take advantage of you and ride you until you stop them or you're not worthwhile anymore. It happens in every aspect of life. Those who make the choice and get suckered into it have to live with the consequences.
  22. Detroit is playing like shit. This is embarassing. Where's Chauncey? Where's RIP? What the heck?
  23. It's gotta be a bug. I'll reset it.
  24. Yeah, I'm not sure where it went. Drag.
