  1. Here is the simple truth, folks. This board is what you make of it. The character of this board is determined by the people who post. If you do not like the direction the board is heading... well, sure you could jump ship. Or you could do your best to steer it in another direction. How? By not responding to the negative. Or by reporting the post to me whereupon I could step in and say, "cool it" and/or close the thread if I thought it was necessary. Or by posting positive things... threads about good music, threads about good movies, etc. If someone steps in and says, "that music sucks!" you just say, "That's nice..." and continue on. I find myself sometimes getting heated, such as in a recent thread with Allen and I was amazed at how cool and level-headed Joe remained during the whole thing. After that experience, I've decided to try and be more like Joe and just skip over the negative parts of the posts or threads and just respond to the positive with more positive. The best advice that I can think of, that we should all follow is: a) If something gets you riled up, go away for awhile... an hour or two, maybe even a day... before posting. b) Don't post anything that you wouldn't say to someone face to face. I think this would solve a lot of the problems here. It's common civility. This board cannot be all things to all people, but the tone of the place is set by you.
  2. Criminey!!! That's quite a story!
  3. Kevin, Can you please post a link to a thread that has this problem? Thanks.
  4. Well, it helps to have friends (ie, this forum!) We'd appreciate it! And thank you again for your compliments.
  5. Yes, and without that shot, the Pistons would've only been down 1 point and could've called a timeout with much more time on the clock. Getting two points or getting fouled is much easier than trying to lob up a three with just over 3 seconds left. That was crap. That said, the Pistons were leading by 10 going into the fourth quarter. They should've won the game. I think they got tired!
  6. Jealousy... She asked him to play Young's Dream at the last gig. "Can you play Young's Dream complete with that amazing solo by Jim Alfredson?"
  7. Yes, thank you James!! Would you consider writing a review for our CDBaby page? Anyone can do it!!! http://www.cdbaby.com/cd/organissimo
  8. Damn... I thought the Pistons had it but I give the Suns credit for coming back. What was up with Stoudamire shuffling his feet right under the basket, 6 inches from the ref, and they give him the basket? Ridiculous. Good game. No ass whoopin' to be seen.
  9. What about "Walkin' The Dog" by McDuff?!?
  10. I'm badass like that.
  11. The whole thing?? Wimp. Would've taken b3-er only 4 bars, or so I've heard told. Hey, don't drag me into this!!!
  12. Asswhooping? Funny, the Pistons are up by 6 right now and are absolutely abusing the Suns on the offensive glass.
  13. .25watts? No, it puts out 40watts into 16ohm.
  14. You can't argue with Billy Higgins.
  15. That's how the industry works... something strikes a chord with the populace and suddenly you have 100's of copycats doing it as everyone tries to get a piece of pie. The original was most likey made for artistic reasons whereas the copies are made for monetary reasons and that's the difference.
  16. Hey ss1, I think it's time for a new "quote of the century".
  17. Yeppers... A Leslie 122 amp. It uses two 6550s, two 12AU7s and a OC3 regulator.
  18. Don't fret... tubes can last quite a long time. You should be able to tell when a tube starts going bad. The amp will lose power (ie, won't get as loud without distorting), lose fidelity, and overall just start sounding crappy.
  19. Same here. The last time it happened, the girl drew in close and said.... "I play cello!" Dude, what the hell!??! I just zoomed in on that guy's sheet music on the organ in Photoshop!!! Check it out:
  20. When I was in middle school and early high school, this guy was my hero. Check out his L-100 in the back, with what looks like an ARP modular on top:
  21. This happens to me all the time:
  22. I guess they didn't have the internet back then! How many days did it take the major media to realize Jimmy Smith had passed?
  23. I'm trying it... they be playing classical. Word!
