I just saw the last bit of the PBS special awarding the Mark Twain prize to Lorne Michaels. Paul Simon sang "Still Crazy After All These Years", backed by G.E. Smiths band, but I swear that the guy playing Rhodes was Sam Yahel. Of course, the credits went by so quickly I couldn't read if it was him or not. Anyone see this?

Chuck, If it's an older printer, this is the way to go. Newer printers are "plug and play" which means you usually can plug them in and Windows will recognize that a new device has been added and ask for the software install disc that came with the printer. If you were using Windows 95, I'm assuming this is a printer that uses the LPT or parallel port (the big, usually purple one of the back). LPT printers are not plug and play.

These you can hook right up to your stereo with no computer involved, and record just like normal. I use this method and the results are great! The only problem is that the track markers are often off, especially in sets with lots of stops or silence. On an art ensemble album I had some nearly 100 tracks. Totally annoying. I have not figured out how to fix that problem. But I just keep an eye while the CD is recording and mark which track numbers are for each song. Sounds like your cd recorder is automatically putting in tracks during silences. You need to set it to manual, so that you have to physically press a button for it to mark the next track.
