  1. Brandon is right in that Pro Tools does bouncing in real-time. I don't know why. Cubase SX does it much much faster. The stand-alone option is a good one, but of course you can't really do any editing, which is what you're using Pro Tools for, I assume. If the bouncing time is really an issue I'd research some other software that can do it faster.
  2. I feel your pain, bro. I was gone this weekend too and my poor 8 month pregnant wife and her sister had to share shifts all night long to keep the rain from getting into my music studio in the basement. Our house is old (1909) but the biggest problem is that the dumb-ass previous owners had new eaves put on... but only on the east and west sides! No eaves on the north or south sides!! So the rain has nowhere to go but straight into the ground and through the basement walls. Needless to say, we're getting eaves this week put up and that should solve 90% of the problem. For the other 10%, I'm going to use this sealer, which promises to be very very cool. I've emailed them and talked about my situation and they guarantee that if I apply the stuff right, no water will come through my walls ever again. It's a tad expensive, but consider the no-brand shit at Home Depot costs $74 per 5 gallons and this doesn't seem so bad.
  3. Detroit just killed the Sonics. Winning 4 of 5 out west ain't bad for my boyz. I'm glad the Lakers beat the Nets. I dislike the Lakers but I hate the Nets even more. Kidd is one ugly mofo.
  4. Yeah man, that was awesome. Hey, you know what shirt this is? Damn you, Jim; I don't remember the next line! Isn't that the shirt you wore during the Eye of the Tiger video?
  5. Yeah man, that was awesome. Hey, you know what shirt this is?
  6. Hey, why didn't we get a cake like that for the Organissimo Forums birthday! That cake is COOL!
  7. The biggest thing even before worrying about pixels is the lens itself. Most digital cameras have cheap lenses. My Sony has the Carl Zeiss lens and I've A/B'd it with cameras that have more pixels but standard lenses and it blows them away. You only get out what you put in, afterall.
  8. I play with the R&B/blues band. I've gotten used to unattentive audiences.
  9. Yeah, but did you catch the Detroit vs. Nuggets Dunk-a-thon? 'Sheed was throwin' it down!!
  10. Easy for you to say. I just got done playing three nights at a casino here in northern Michigan to crowds that could care less. What is it about casinos that make people turn into zombies as soon as they walk in? Anyway, I'm just doing these gigs for the money as well. I don't tell the audience that but if I'm 80 years old and still doing it just because I need the money, I probably won't hold my tongue.
  11. Scandalous!!!!!
  12. Yeah, I've never heard of that Jesse Chandler cat but he has a record on Fresh Sound that has gotten some pretty rave reviews. It'll be interesting to hear, for sure.
  13. Thanks to all for making this the place it is. I set it up, but it would be nothing without all of you! Congrats and here's to many more years... Randy, get Vic's ass on this board so we can steal his secrets!
  14. My point, Dan, is that the man is a fuckin' living legend but still has to be on the road to make a living. That's a very shitty statement about how Americans treat their geniuses. Jimmy is a musical genius and he should be living large in some tropical retreat somewhere, enjoying his legacy instead of having to play in smoky clubs to make ends meet. If I'm 80 and I still have to play in smoky bars to make a living, I'll shoot myself.
  15. Of course Tal Farlow's hands were FREAKIN' HUGE!!!!
  16. Certainly looks like it.
  17. I don't think they are even making Super 400s anymore. My dad has one that was custom made for him by the Kalamazoo, MI Gibson plant, right before it closed. This was 1976 I believe. He recently had it appraised at $15,000 which I think is low.
  18. You're not helping.
  19. Your friend's computer could have a keylogger piece of spyware on it. Such a little worm would allow someone to "see" everything he/she types. So if they went to their BankOne page and logged in, the keylogger would just save his keystrokes and send them to the hacker. The hacker could then see his password and login name no problem. Such is the problem with using computers for private tasks like managing your bank account. Too many people are really computer illiterate and don't understand how to keep themselves safe. You should update Windows regularly. You should have updated anti-virus software (updated at least every week.) You should use Spyware removal programs like Ad-Aware and Spybot. And you should have a firewall.
  20. A little testy tonight, are we?
  21. Food for thought: The man is almost 80 years old. Do you think he wants to be on the road? Think about that before you pass judgement on him.
  22. What exactly defines an American Singles band?
  23. Congrats! My wife and I are expecting our first child in April... first grand-baby on both sides. I think it's safe to say that he/she will be spoiled rotten!
  24. Ah, don't be so quick to judge, patricia. I have said album on vinyl already. CD is just more convinient.
  25. Do you have a pop-up filter activated? If so then pages will not be able to load in a new window. Most pop-up filters have a key sequence that will allow you to bypass them. For instance, holding down the "ctrl" key while clicking the link.
