I agree with Use's decision to close the thread. Whether or not he agrees with undergroundagent or not doesn't matter. The thread would've been closed one way or the other since the sole purpose of it was to drag someone's name through the mud for a problem that should've been solved in PM. Don't use this board as your own personal vendetta postcard, all right folks? Thanks.

Funny you should mention jingles because Randy got some weird email from a cat who wants us to write a jingle for his new product which is called the "Snatchmaster". I am not lying. But I am very scared what a snatchmaster might be considering he wants women moaning in the commercial. I am not lying.

That's funny about the Unity shirt thing, Sangry. About four years ago at the Detroit Jazz Fest, Joe and I saw a dude wearing a Unity t-shirt and we both wondered where he got it and thought it was the coolest thing. It's still pretty cool, I must say.

The Organissimo tribute CD

I don't have much to add except concerning copyrights. Since this will be most likely such a limited run, I'm not going to worry about copyrights for the moment. I'm assuming out of the 500+ members we have maybe 100 or 150 will buy the disc, maybe. So there's really no need to go through the hassle of copyrights since the payout will be so insignificant. I like the poll idea. Make it so, Cat Shatner! -
We were at the grocery store tonight (the wife and I) and passed up some free range chicken because it was over $1 more per pound. But when you think about it, that's not a lot of money. I think next time I'll try some and see if the lack of hormones tastes different!

Has anyone ever done research on what staying in a vat of baked beans for that long would do to one's skin? Just wondering... -

I have to say, I'm not quite sure what a "Mr. Kenyatta groove" refers to. -
If Lonnie Plaxico is on the record I assume it has bass on the tracks which means one could very well comp on Rhodes while soloing on the B3.

Congrats, Johnny! Sounds like a good show!

I love that tune. How about "Mellow Mood" too. I never get tired of that groove! -

So is it not on the regular "In A Silent Way"? I have that record but I don't know it by heart. -
Ok, I'll crack it open soon. My turntable isn't even hooked up right now. So many other things goin' on. For what it's worth, I got my sealed original copy (Muse original pressing) on Ebay for $5. Yeehaw!

The Organissimo tribute CD

Ah yes, LeeAnn. Great tune. I think we'll save Tenderley for the "real" disc. We already recorded a version of it in the "real" studio, so... I love the ballad Laura. Nice tune. That's a good one. So now that we have four people asking for "Ghetto Walk" I'm going to swallow my pride come clean. I don't think I've ever heard Ghetto Walk and I have no idea who does it. Fill me in, please. -
The Organissimo tribute CD

That was the original idea. At the rate of requests we're getting, we might have to do a double-CD set!!! Some of the tunes mentioned we already do such as Tyrone, The Yodel, and Organ Grinder's Swing. But I like these suggestions. -

You guys are gonna kill me! I've always wanted to do Moontrane but it's a harder tune that it sounds. I'll have to work on that puppy! I like these ideas. Keep 'em coming. -
So as most of you know, folks here have been talking about how to support the site in a monetary way. If you're unfamilair with the discussion, you can read this thread right here. Recently I came up with the idea for Organissimo to go into my little project studio and record a CD of classic organ tunes. Fun stuff, organ standards if you will. I'm getting some new equipment and need to play with it anyway. So the idea is to record some tunes, burn a CD-R, and sell them for $5-$7 a pop. That way if you'd like to support this site you can purchase one of these CD-Rs and all proceeds will go to maintaining this site. All extra $$ will go to our next "real" CD project which will be done in a professional studio, like before. Ok. Simple enough. Well, Rooster Ties came up with a nice idea of letting YOU, the Organissimo Forum Members, choose the tunes we cover. I think this is a neat idea. My only suggestions for tunes would be this: They should be classic organ tunes or tunes that you think would work well with organ that you haven't heard anybody do but that are classic tunes. The idea of this disc is sort of a tribute to the organ stuff of yore. So throw them at us! We obviously won't be able to do all of them, but I think it's safe to say we could get enough ideas to fill the whole disc. Oh yeah, and Cat Shatner will be on the artwork as designed by our very own Africa Brass!

That's an interesting idea. Consider it done.

No shit. They recorded that show I saw in Ann Arbor last fall. It would be nice if they released it on Schoolkids records. He KILLED it. And Perry Hughes and Randy Gelispie were right there with him.

I don't know but that's a great name for a kid...

Here's an idea I ran past Joe the other day. Let me know if you guys are interested. I'm currently putting together a little project studio. I already had one, kind of, but I'm upgrading it and making it better (along with our new house). Anyway, here's the idea. We'll record a little EP of sorts... a CD of common organ tunes that we do all the time. Fun stuff... organ standards... you know... Maybe 6 or 8 tunes. We'll do it all in my little home studio (I recorded "Life Wish" on the CD so I kind of know what I'm doing!) and then I'll offer CD-Rs complete with some adequate cover art for a certain price. Probably $5-$7. If you want to support the site, buy one of the CDs. If not, no big whoop. All extra proceeds will go to the production of our next CD which most likely will be recorded in a real studio, although you never know... if I can get a good sound out of what I have and what I'm picking up, we might record it at home and mix it in the studio. Whaddya think?
