  1. Just recently I was revisiting some 60's Miles Quintet cds (issued in the early 90's), and was delighted to find Christiern's name at the end of the liner notes for two of them.
  2. I'm pretty curious about it as well. I could use a new infusion of ideas. Of course, I'd have to buy a dvd player first.
  3. What book is this? (Interesting how this has become a dual topic thread)
  4. Same here. I always get the shakes, too.
  5. Yeah man, my digits are still smarting!
  6. Remains to be seen how you fare in the Dan vs. Chuck ppv event.
  7. Are you on drugs?
  8. I don't think you can say that for sure until this time next year.
  9. Don't overlook this if you're looking for some first rate Turbanator!
  10. Okay, I'll go along with that. But THAT DOESN'T MEAN YOU ARE FREE TO MAKE USE OF IT WHEN COURT IS IN SESSION! Your honor, I OBJECT!
  11. Years ago, when I bought this cd from a Wherehouse Records, the girl behind the counter saw the title and exclaimed, "I have weird nightmares!" Fortunately for her I was familiar with the Hal Wilner Mingus tribute by that name, or else my response would have been along the lines of, "Do you analyze them?" Should've said that anyway. I always think of good comebacks about 5 minutes after the fact...
  12. What about Big Al's current sig: Does anybody really read this stuff down here?!?!? I guess we've answered that question.
  13. On the way to our last gig, Jim was playing some Johnny "Hammond" Smith for me. Man, that cat was bad!
  14. What's the meaning of the whole "bastards" thing? Or is it one of those if you have to ask...
  15. As Falls Witchita, So Falls Witchita Falls
  16. Love the guitar solo, Paco.
  17. Loved weed the first year I smoked it (especially listening to music), but it quickly lost its luster after that. I never touch the stuff now. ~ About one's declining years, my dad is 57 and is in incredible shape. He works pretty hard at it though. He bikes, rows, lifts weights, and does a lot of cross-country skiing in the winter. His strength and stamina just kills me when I go out riding or skiing with him. Makes me glad to see him taking good care of himself, as I want him around as long as possible. Funny how we know that exercising and eating right makes us feel great, but still we seem to always have to make ourselves do it. So easy to backslide.
  18. Don't forget that we'll also be offering t-shirts.
  19. Is that a combination of "weird" and "word"?
  20. Thanks for the listening suggestion. Beautiful song; especially in combination with beer. The perfect combination to get into a nice depressive mood. Welcome to Joe's world. Except I don't drink much beer.
  21. Go listen to Life Wish. That should tell you something about me.
  22. I told you I have emotional problems; that ain't enough? What, am I on Dr Phil now???
  23. I love this thread. No, seriously! I like it when people drop the pretense of being perfectly well-adjusted individuals and are able to own up to the messy side of life. So I suppose I should step up to the plate... Very little physical problems; I eat fairly healthy, go walking a lot and practice chi-gong almost daily. My issues are mostly emotional and related to the way the choices I've made (and continue to make) have set up certain aspects of my life. That's all I'm gonna say about that!!!
