  1. Thanks, Tony. I hope all is well with you.
  2. An article in the Lansing State Journal today alerted me to this 210-mile charity bike ride, taking place near Seattle, August 18-20. The website is www.ibdride.org Something I haven't mentioned on the board (not that I can recall), though I discussed it privately with a handful of friends here, is that Michelle, my wife of nearly 14 years, died of complications from Crohn's last year at the age of 36. The story of Julielyn Gibbons that was in today's paper almost brought me to tears, remembering all the pain, the surgeries, the long hospital stays, the TPN and other medications, and most of all the dreams for a normal life that died long before Michelle did. Ms. Gibbons is showing a hell of a lot of pluck, as she's doing everything she can to raise awareness of this disease and money for helping others like her in addition to just getting on with her life - no small feat for someone with this condition, believe me. You can make a general donation at the website, or for specific riders. To do that, you'd need the riders name and number. Julielyn Gibbons is # S-43, her friend Chelsea Hannert is S-53. Donate only if you feel moved to do so. Thanks for reading.
  3. Maybe they can't be compared, but they are still great recordings. I love BTMS. I want to get some of these Montreal tapes. Thanks for the reminder.
  4. We were very glad to see you all there. Arno is playing great. Thoroughly schooled me on that rhythm changes tune.
  5. Look at that - picking up steam! Go, Johnny Go!
  6. I'm getting closer to shelling out the dough for some CDs. In the last few days I've been random streaming Routes from that webpage that Jim pointed out, and the stuff is really growing on me.
  7. See you in a few!
  8. Play well, and keep us posted.
  9. That is exactly what we set out to do, believe it or not.
  10. On a road trip with Randy once, he played Yellow Shark for me, and I couldn't get past that very perception. It just did not sit well with me. As for the other Zappa I've heard, there are elements I can appreciate, but the "spirit" of his music simply doesn't resonate with me either.
  11. Straight from the Rove playbook.
  12. Mike, thanks for sharing that little bit about Mr. Tanner. I guess it goes to show that few, if any of us, are completely "unsung and unknown".
  13. Just because you're paranoid doesn't mean they're not out to get you.
  14. Or maybe... he's on a private island somewhere, later to be joined by his wife. It's all just a little too perfect, don't ya think? George didn't want to go down in history as the guy who pardoned one of the worst corporate criminals in modern times, so... Watch for a story that "confirms" the identity of the body, like DNA or something. :rsmile:
  15. Might check into the Suzuki method. I can't recommend it, because I haven't researched it, but it seems to be geared toward kids like yours.
  16. Why have I never heard of this song? :rsmile:
  17. Well, the guys behind them look pretty wigged out!
  18. Yes - thanks for sharing that with us.
  19. Well said, and done, Chuck. All the best to you and your family. Hope to see you sometime soon.
  20. I can't believe I just read all that.
  21. It is a great website. I've been working on a few of their tunes recently.
  22. Interesting source. Thanks for posting!
  23. Before or after the cd of Styx tunes? Don't worry, Chuck. That one will see the light of day soon, with full credits to you as producer and "conceptualizer".
  24. We have indeed considered that very thing.
