  1. There are some selections from that Remember Shakti dvd up now.
  2. I asked Jim about the X and he replied thusly: Because it's now a "category" containing sub-forums instead of a forum in and of itself, so it's using a different graphic that has not been used before and obviously needs to be changed. I will do that later today. No sure why you can't read the thread; I'm not having that problem.
  3. No kidding?
  4. Oh. I thought maybe it was "no girlz allowed" or something.
  5. Why the "X" on the mainpage button?
  6. I wondered how "woring" was accomplished. Thought I was missing something in my practice routines.
  7. Anyone else my age (36) have STAR WARS-themed dreams on a recurring basis? Lots of weird dreams lately. Everything from ogres to creepy stage productions.
  8. Not sure what to expect with that, but I'm interested. I finally got that 20th anniversary Song X... love it. The added tunes are all excellent, and the remastering is a big improvement.
  9. Lovely! How'd you make out with those strippers? Edit: Bah! Should've quoted you, you golden-armed quick edit man.
  10. Outstanding Rod! Please report about all the above. I can't believe there were no responses to your posting. I just read this - that is amazing!
  11. Your situation may be a drag, but your posts are frickin' hilarious!
  12. Thanks Rachel; looks like it's still up.
  13. Miles about to be eaten by a mammoth!
  14. As Nessa once said, "Musicians are famous for not showing up." But we are trying to get back to NYC.
  15. Will do. Not that I wouldn't have without the reference, of course.
  16. Paul Mckee, Gallery
  17. Try clicking on the "quote" button in the lower right hand corner of the posts you want to quote. It will turn red, and the text will show up in your reply.
  18. In that photo, she has just cornered her prey, which she will now toy with before devouring.
  19. Time to get crackin'.
  20. I'm not familiar with this book, but Mick Goodrick's Almanac of Guitar Voice-Leading Vol. II deals extensively with quartal harmony. You'll find page after page of 3-, 4-, and, 5-part chords in 4ths, voice-led through every possible permutation, for Major, Melodic Minor, and Harmonic Minor. I guess you wouldn't call that a "discussion", but it might be a great companion to the Persichetti.
  21. It's all so clear to me now.... I'm the keeper of the cheese, and you're the lemon merchant!!
  22. Saw Newman in Syracuse recently and thought pretty much the same as you: good straightahead music. Yuron Israel was the drummer, along with Marcus Belgrave and Howard Johnson. Probably the same organist you saw as well. Harper was here in Lansing with his sextet last week, but unfortunately organissimo was up north doing a short tour, so I missed it. Also missed Harry Manx at the same venue earlier in the week. Drat! Oh well, at least I had a good excuse.
