  1. Sound Sun Pleasure Holiday for Soul Dance Super-Sonic Jazz Jazz In Silhouette Languidity Greatest Hits Stay Awake - "pink elephants..." Question: The tune "Where Pathways Meet" on Languidity seems the odd duck of the Sun Ra I own and I dig dat duck. Any recs as to cuts or albums that have the overt skwank and funk reminiscent of them elephants enjoying a slurp at a late night watering hole? Seems I'm missing some essential mid seventies for this sound.
  2. Piccioni, Umiliani ... don't know 'bout the equipment BUT: Antonello Vannucchi is da man!!! and he just used a Hammond or a Lowery. (?)
  3. I just read that Detroit unveiled the new "F-150 Rantallion" at this week's auto show.

  13. I guess I'm less trying to get her into something I like than getting a kernel of direction for the stuff that she thinks she likes. I can pretty much like anything (but if they play bagpipes at my funeral I'm getting out of the ground and going Blutarski). After seeing that old Stetsasonic vid I thought what better way to get her going against the grain (which she certainly has no probs about) and introducing her to the real deal - music that appeals to that hippity hop thing that she listens to more than a wee bit and showing her the most creative side of that style ... hence calling the board.
  14. Been battling with the airwaves at home and all that rises to the top is the hip hop flavor (just a pinch) of today's horribly presented redundantly whiney misogy mewzak that comes from that urban contemporary station that my nearly 13 year old thinks is soo waaay cool. For as much as I try to get that head pointed to all the things that I say are great a stone wall is around the corner. Now, after clinking to a Stetsasonic vid - here - courtesy of elderdonohmydarlin', I was thinking that the perfect stocking stuffer might be to spin some young ears around and set her in a direction that only the fine folks at organissimo could point - (cause face it I'm just too white). So if you had to pick say a few essential yet edgy gems from the past or recent future that might appeal to a girl - who can pick a Monk from amongst others yet that seems not good enough for her - in order keep her out of the field of suburban grazers. Any bits of interest would help. Thanks
  15. Not new but it's been awating re-issue for some time and Dusty finally sent me a notice. "Blow Lynn Blow" A comp of all his singles and sides I gather. It seems to be a UK issue so you are all over it.
  16. Not sure how but found this whilst perusing for a newly re-issued Lynn Hope CD for Dad. great bit of flicker set images... Vintage Cleveland
  17. After proper cannebaneezers, riding the waves of "I Am The Sea" and readying for "The Real Me" had to be the bestest coupling for any college bound lad (mmmm maybe not, but Keith Moon is freegin' propulsive on this one).
  18. now get offa that 'puter and take out the trash!
  19. braggart ... i recently put my 33 / 36 on and had to go with 34s from here out!
  20. Nor had I, but I had a dog who loved bacon. Oh man ain't that the truth! In fact, when we make bacon with Sunday Brunch - not very often - we pour off the grease into a small glass and pour it over their dinner. Very healthy treat, highly recommended for dog owners. Healthy! Man our dog basks in the smell alone and that's about all he'll get except maybe a scrap or two of that dried pork belly. After that glass o' grease I'll bet that Coltrane makes like Brotzmann out in the yard.
