  1. Amy Doghouse! Gotta love a dog in a costume!
  2. Now, any commentary on Nicole Willis and the Soul Investigators? A toss of the same retro-motown-neo-soul as The Dap Kings backed ladies but with a bit more Smokey Mayfield Robinson in the genes. She's a bit of a weird tone at times and her high notes are somewhat elusive. Finnish Funk w/ some mp3samples check her "Werd Up" on emusic.
  3. eBay! forgot to tell that that single is on eBay and ends Thursday. You NEED that!!
  4. For Dan: Nice piece on some musical origins at the old ballyard. "Tessie, Sweet Caroline, Dirty Water" and Tony C.
  5. Her new video w/o her. 'cept you got to wait a minute before the song actually starts. I love this tune. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RI_xYIxUTE0
  6. http://sports.espn.go.com/broadband/ivp/index?id=3083220
  7. I doubt Curt's going anywhere except to Maynard
  8. Play of the game for me was Papelbon's pick on Holiday to seal it all. Looked like some serious tension about unfold. The wife woke up the neighborhood with that one.
  9. shouldn't this be moved to the "neighbor had a bell" thread?
  10. My favorite: Shark Drive
  11. your racially loaded terminology offends me. scheisser / dumpy ?

  13. Not probably. Too bad for Mr. Goulet. Hope he's comfortable. Great performer and one of my mom's faves!
  14. Doh! Ya gotta cook the shit outta those things!!
  15. that's fantastic and so is the kid! ... now if he could dance? http://br.youtube.com/watch?v=N7IZmRnAo6s
  16. I too thought that was a HR off the bat BUT after looking at all them replays I think the right call was made. Whatever is under that yellow mat is what caused it to bounce back onto the field. Looked like a hit right on the corner just like a perfect toss in "Step Ball". Seemed to me they said that yellow is the edge no matter but had it gone a quarter inch higher and ricocheted into the stands it's a round trip. STILL, friggin Manny mang, walking out of the box - he must have been a real pain in the ass as a little leaguer.
  17. I heard the audio of this this morning after posting so I think it's a bit out of context in print - even tho it is what he meant - but Manny's being Manny, mang, and his attitude is just like his swing - he will do the best he can do and that's all anyone can ask and it will ususally be better ... now as for them other guys who bat after him, sheesh. At least Manny HAS proved it in the post season but the bottom (ie: Drew) better deliver or the fans will run Theo and his high priced lot out on a rail. At least Manny actually has some refreshing joviality and I think he was trying to put everyone at ease. Hate to be a sunflower seed tonite.
  18. Wood's latest Gillette commercial w/ the soccer and tennis guys is just downright wrong.
  19. I thought it was 'til the Fat Man pitches? but...
  20. Yeah! Listening to some of that Ethiopiques Jazz - esp Mulatu Astatke -from the fifties and sixties and then finding the Budos Band ... quite a circle. Check the Daktaris as well. Kind of all in that same mela-nge.
  21. Anyone familiar w/ Elaine Delmar's reish on Vocalion save for the title cut "Sneakin' Up On You"? One of those names i had on a comp years ago and really like her voice. Would be nice to know that the disc might be as "groovy" as "Sneakin' ...".
  22. Beckett's the only chance, right? No doubt he's hoping for rain. I bet Sabathia is pissed from his first game showing and if Betancourt comes in apres Perez and tosses the same shit (as in good shit) as he did last night then indeed they are
  23. Why does GoodSpeak hate Ian Hunter? and just how much is Hasbro kickin' in for that "TRANSFORMERS" thing every replay!? ... livin' in sin with a safety pin ...
  24. The only thing that might cool off the Rockies is a week long layoff. But I don't see anyone beating them the way they are playing right now. I'd like to see a Cleveland/Colorado WS and I think it will happen. However, I'm wondering if that match up would be a ratings disaster. I would really like to see the Indians win it all. When was the last time they won it, 1945??? '48 I'm pretty certain. Being a transplant to the north of Boston area who formerly had to deal with them midgie flies on many occasions I can now go either way, but my heart holds for the Tribe. Cleveland needs something to revel in besides looking forward to Art Modells future obit.
